Rimmel Signs Georgia May Jagger and Coco Rocha

Congratulations to Georgia May Jagger and Coco Rocha who have just been confirmed as the new faces of Coty Inc owned British makeup brand Rimmel. Georgia,17, is the beautiful offspring of Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger. If you don't recognize her from her Hudson Jeans campaign or from this month's Vogue cover, get ready to see her face getting splashed around fashion mags a whole lot more. This full-lipped blonde's career is about to blow up!

Coco, practically a veteran in the biz has modeled for Chanel, Calvin Klein, The Gap, Balenciaga, H & M, Lanvin, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Liz Claiborne NY and many more. The ladies will follow in the footsteps of other Rimmel models like Kate Moss, Lily Cole and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and you can expect to see the new ads in early 2010.

Additionally, Rimmel will be adding three more spokesmodels from different ethnic backgrounds (along with keeping Kate Moss in the loop) to increase the brand's worldwide appeal. Stephen Mormoris, Coty Beauty senior vice president of global marketing said,

At last night's London premiere of the The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, English model Lily Cole, (not to be mistaken for a relative of Cheryl Cole) arrived on the red carpet wearing bright red lipstick, a look we don't often see on her. Just last week in Paris, she was spotted in a casual looking, creamy pinky-blush coloured shade, and at last season's Paris Fashion Week, she donned pale, shimmery pink lips and dark smoky eyes. The scent, which is called Idole d’Armani, will debut in September, however, the photos for the ads will be released next month at the Paris couture shows.

This is quite exiting news for the rising starlet, along with her new movie called "From Paris With Love" that co-stars acting legend John Travolta and the sexy Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

The Met's Costume Institute Gala: The Models

Last night's theme at the 2009 Costume Institute Gala was "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," an exploration of how models have inspired and projected fashions throughout recent years. Of course, my coverage of this event would not be complete without a gallery of models who walked the red carpet. (Here's why some big names didn't show up).
