Last week I showed you that old mouse pads needn't be tossed in the trash or Goodwill pile — they can be re-born as coasters. On that same token, the soft squishy fabric is great for a number of uses around the house.
If you've got a table or chair that's semi-wobbly, cut a small piece of an old mouse pad to fit under the wobbly leg.

We've all got them lurking around our desks at home and work: old, unused mouse pads. They're flat and not taking up too much space, but they've got a second life in them, easily!
My super quick geek tip is also green: turn your old mouse pads into coasters with five minutes, a pair of scissors, and a pencil.

Mouse pads are usually just cute, maybe sometimes fun, but they're almost never this rad! The Headphones Mouse Pad ($7) is made from an original screenprint design — the medley of colors and the headphone print are TDF, right?
It's way cooler than the primary-color gel-wrist mouse pad I'm rocking right now, so maybe it's time to change it up.

A lot of people don't like modern because it can be cold, but sometimes when it is that means it's really, really cool.
Such is the case with DWR's Aluminum Mouse Pad ($35), which is spare, striking and literally cold to the touch (except for the felt wrist rest, natch).
It may lack a certain patterned flair of say, a Marimekko mouse pad, but if you're edging away from using mouse pads because of their Office Space-type looks, then this version might work great for your own fabulous office space.
