Nowhere Boy — See it or Skip it?
Aaron Johnson and Sam Taylor-Wood recently announced their engagement, and now the movie that brought them together is set to come out. Nowhere Boy is the story of John Lennon's childhood, featuring Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging's Aaron in the lead role, and directed by artist Sam Taylor-Wood. The movie's out on Christmas Day, and I can't wait to see it — but what do you think?
Angelina Jolie in Salt — See it or Skip it?
Exciting — we saw Angelina Jolie filming it, but now the first trailer for Salt has been released! She plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer who is accused by a defector of being a Russian spy, and has to go on the run and try to clear her name. The film's not out until summer 2010, but I'd love to know if you think you'll see it, or skip it!
Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin Will Cohost The Oscars!
The Oscars hosts have finally been announced, and they certainly don't disappoint — Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin will be cohosting the ceremony! The two have worked together several times, including in a 2006 Saturday Night Live sketch, an episode of 30 Rock which aired in the UK on Comedy Central last week, and are soon to be seen costarring with Meryl Streep in It's Complicated — check out the trailer under the jump. Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia — See it or Skip it?
Last summer, we saw a lot of Jake Gyllenhaal in London with his girlfriend Reese Witherspoon as he worked on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in the UK. He stars in the movie alongside Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley, and the trailer has just been released! Invictus: See It or Skip It?
The trailer for Clint Eastwood's Invictus has been released, and it's got me excited for the film. It tells the true story of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship, which saw newly elected Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) team up with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to unite the country. It's due out in the UK on 5 February 2010, so check out the trailer below and vote to let me know: will you see it or skip it?
Taylor and Taylor Go On a Shopping and Dinner Date!
Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner went shopping at Alice + Olivia in Los Angeles yesterday, before heading for dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House. We've seen the couple on dates in LA and in Chicago, and they looked very happy together as they giggled in the car: so cute! When asked whether they're a couple during a radio show interview, Swift said: "I don't know, he's an amazing guy and we're really close … and ah … yep".
Maggie Receives An Education From Peter, Dominic and Carey
Maggie Gyllenhaal joined Peter Sarsgaard at the Paris Theatre in New York City last night for the premiere of An Education. Peter's costars Carey Mulligan and Dominic Cooper were also in attendance, although Dominic's girlfriend Amanda Seyfried couldn't make it. The trio of stars premiered the movie at the Toronto Film Festival last month, and the film is one of several great movies to hit our cinema screens this month: do you plan to see it or skip it?
A Nightmare on Elm Street — See It or Skip It?
The first trailer for the new remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street has been released this week, starring familiar faces Thomas Dekker, Katie Cassidy and Twilight's Kellan Lutz among others. I'm not a huge fan of remakes, but I have to say this trailer intrigued me quite a lot and actually looks pretty good! Jonathan Rhys Meyers Goes From Paris to Dublin With Love
Jonathan Rhys Meyers signed autographs for fans during a break in filming The Tudors in Dublin yesterday. He has flecks of grey in his hair and beard as he's playing an older Henry VIII in this final series, and was joined on set by his final wife, Joely Richardson. During the breaks between filming the series, Jonathan has been busy with film projects, and the trailer for his latest movie From Paris With Love has just been released: check it out after the jump.
Are You Excited For the Michael Jackson This Is It Film?
The Michael Jackson: This Is It film will open with simultaneous premieres in more than 15 cities around the world. The film will show us rehearsal footage as Michael prepared for his tour, and has been put together from more than 100 hours of footage. Jeff Blake of Sony Pictures said:
