YouTube Adds Movie Trailer Section to Site

It wasn't that long ago when we found out that YouTube started offering a nice selection of TV shows on its website, and now they have just launched a directory for movie trailers. I know it's fairly easy to find movie trailers online nowadays, but what I like about YouTube's format is the way they are organized. Cut right to the chase with specified categories like Popular, Latest, In Theaters and Opening Soon. Now when you want to convince a friend to check out a movie with you, you can either post the trailer on your blog or shoot them the trailer URL in an email. Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia - See it or Skip it?

Last summer, we saw a lot of Jake Gyllenhaal in London with his girlfriend Reese Witherspoon as he worked on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in the UK. He stars in the movie alongside Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley, and the trailer has just been released! It's not out until May 2010, but check out this action packed preview and let me know - do you think you'll see it, or skip it?

The Yellow Handkerchief: See It or Skip It?

The trailer for Kristen Stewart's film The Yellow Handkerchief has been released, along with news the film will be released in the US on 12 Feb. 2010. Kristen plays a troubled teen alongside William Hurt, Mario Bello and Eddie Redmayne in the movie, which follows three strangers on a road trip in post-Hurricane Katrina Louisiana. Producer Arthur Cohn said Kristen was recommended for the part by Jodie Foster, and added: "The part of Kristen in Twilight is completely different from the one she plays in The Yellow Handkerchief, which is particularly interesting for Kristen's fans all over the world." Movie Preview: Ben Stiller Plays It Straight in Greenberg

I have a love/hate relationship with Ben Stiller movies. Over the years, I've grown tired of seeing him in the same everyman role again and again (with a few exceptions, like There's Something About Mary), but every now and then he throws a curve ball that pulls me back in. Greenberg already looks like one of the latter films.

The upcoming indie movie from The Squid and the Whale director Noah Baumbach follows Roger Greenberg, a middle-aged New Yorker who heads to LA and decides to "do nothing" in an attempt to figure out his life. The movie looks like it could be a tearjerker, but maybe that's just because LCD Soundsystem's "All My Friends" is playing in the background. (The band's James Murphy lends a few new songs to the movie). Rhys Ifans is Roger's best friend while Greta Gerwig is the woman he befriends and beds. Get a Taste of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

This Friday, I'm pretty sure I know what I'll be having for dinner: spaghetti with meatballs. That's because I plan on catching a new movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, on its opening night, which I can already tell will make my mouth water.

Loosely based on the classic children's book by Judi and Ron Barrett, Cloudy is an animated film produced by Sony Pictures Animation. The premise: A scientist hopes to solve world hunger when he discovers a way to convert water into food, but when he unleashes his invention on the world, it turns into an epic (albeit delicious) disaster.

I can't wait to get a helping of the computer animated adventure, which features the voices of comedians Andy Samberg and Anna Faris. I suspect the movie will only be more hunger-inducing in its 3-D, IMAX version. Will you be watching? Check out the preview trailer after the jump.

Movie Preview: Amanda Seyfried in Letters to Juliet

Amanda Seyfried's latest film Letters to Juliet looks like a mash up of her other work. First off, her character's name is Sophie, which brings Mamma Mia to mind, as does the romantic foreign locale. But even the title itself made me do a double-take - wait, isn't she already doing a book-turned-film about letters called Dear John?! Still, I'm not writing it off just yet. (No pun intended). I can be a sucker for a love story, even if it's a bit sappy.

The film follows Seyfried as an American tourist who discovers an unanswered "letter to Juliet" while on a trip in Verona, Italy. (The notes are left by visitors asking for help from Shakespeare's famous heroine.) She responds to the plea, and then sets off to find its author (Vanessa Redgrave) and reunite her with the man she left decades before. Of course, there's a triangle in there too, as Sophie begins to question her own relationship with her fiance (Gael Garcia Bernal) and falls for the woman's grandson (Christopher Egan).

The trailer pretty much gives away the whole movie, but this sort of storyline is usually predictable so I'll forgive the studio for it. Bonus for Taylor Swift fans: her "Love Story" is the theme song. The film doesn't arrive in theaters until May, but check it out and tell me what you think when you read more.

New Moon - See It or Skip It?

Here it is, the first trailer for new Twilight movie New Moon starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Kellan Lutz, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, and the rest of the crew. There's some glimpses at the chemistry between Kristen and Robert - something we've seen plenty of as they filmed the movie in Italy last week! I want to know whether you'll go and see New Moon when it's released in the UK on November 27, so check out the trailer below and tell me if you'll see it or skip it!

Sherlock Holmes - See It or Skip It?

We've seen the photos, but finally we get our first proper look at Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes in this trailer, and it looks like a lot of fun! Robert Downey Jr stars as the British detective, with Jude Law as his right hand man Watson, plus Rachel McAdams as the sassy Irene Adler. From the trailer, Guy's movie seems to promise plenty of action, a lot of laughs, and Robert Downey Jr handcuffed naked to a bed, so I've added it to my must-see list when it comes out on December 26!
