In Hollywood, sequels are always possible: Not only has Paramount Pictures given Mission Impossible IV the green light, its star Tom Cruise has also been confirmed to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt.
Cruise, along with JJ Abrams, will produce the movie, though Abrams won't be directing, as he did for Mission Impossible III. That job is still open but screenwriters have already been hired and the idea has been pitched by Cruise himself.

I guess Jack Bauer isn't retiring any time soon: 24 is about to be made into a full-length feature film starring Kiefer Sutherland. The show's two-hour TV movie in 2008, "Redemption," was both successful and satisfying — and a good indication that the big screen version of 24 could be awesome as well.
The Simpsons and The X-Files were made into films while their TV counterparts were still on the air, but it's not known if the production on the 24 movie will start before or after the series ends.

Avatar may be finally waning a bit at the box office, but the projects are still rollin' in for the film's actors. Leading man Sam Worthington has been in talks to play Flash Gordon and signed on for a Dracula movie, and now he's got yet another one to throw on the pile.
