Coldplay, Jay-Z and Girls Aloud Rock Wembley Stadium

Coldplay brought their world tour to a close this weekend with two rocking shows at Wembley Stadium, and I was lucky enough to be there. Chris Martin and the boys were supported by White Lies, Girls Aloud and a record-breaking Jay-Z, who really got the audience going: watch Girls Aloud's "The Promise" and Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" after the jump. Coldplay performed a mammoth set of their hits, plus an acoustic version of "Billie Jean" where they were joined by Simon Pegg who played the harmonica, and Jay-Z came back out for "Lost". Chris was energetic as always, showing off his impressive flexibility, and his playful mood was in full force as he got the 60,000 strong crowd to perform a Coldwave - a Mexican wave with mobile phones (check out an example after the jump). In honour of Cheryl Cole, the band also set up an X Factor-style audition with Simon Cowell on the screens. What an awesome show!

If Sarah Takes A Year Out, Is This The End For Girls Aloud?

Sarah Harding has apparently stated that she's taking a year out of Girls Aloud to concentrate on her acting career. While Cheryl Cole focuses on The X Factor for a few months each year, and Nadine Coyle was strangely absent to a string of personal appearances early last year, it looks increasingly like each of the girls' individual commitments are likely to split the band. While Sarah has reportedly said it's only for a year, what do you think - would a year's break for Sarah spell the end for Girls Aloud?

Girls Aloud Gossip Over Dinner Ahead of Tour

Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding enjoyed dinner at London's Soho Hotel yesterday after a photoshoot to promote new single "Untouchable", which the majority of you love. The girls have been busy rehearsing for their 32-date Out of Control tour, which starts in Manchester on 24 April and finishes in Newcastle on 6 June. Being back in her home town will no doubt help Cheryl cling on to her Geordie accent, which Simon Cowell is trying to change to help her crack America. Cheryl chose to spend time with her bandmates last night instead of watch her husband help Chelsea to victory against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, but I'm sure she congratulated him after the match.

Celebrities Keep on Partying After The Brits

Even though the Brit Awards show finished at 10pm, that certainly wasn't the end of the night for all the celebrities in attendance. Universal's after party was fit to bursting with big stars, from Sophie Dahl, Pixie Geldof, Alexa Chung, Duffy, Mark Owen and Lady GaGa to the host of the ceremony James Corden, who was happy to pose with on-again girlfriend Sheridan Smith. Girls Aloud were in the mood to celebrate as they cuddled up to their partners, with Nadine Coyle and NFL boyfriend Jason Bell hanging out with Davina McCall and her hubby Matthew. It was good to see Cheryl Cole looking so happy with Ashley too.

Meanwhile, Estelle performed for a select crowd at the Adidas And Estelle Atlantic House Party. Skins' Nicholas Hoult, Ralf Little, The Ting Tings, Alphabeat, Beverley Knight and Kelly Osbourne's fiancé Luke Worrell were amongst those who enjoyed the show.

2009 Brit Awards: Girls Aloud

Girls Aloud managed to co-ordinate their outfits for the awards without looking too matchy-matchy. They all went for a pale colour palette, but injected their own take on the look resulting in five very different styles. Sarah, Nadine and Cheryl revealed a bit of leg with short dresses whilst Kimberly and Nicola went for floor sweeping gowns. Which is your best dressed member of Girls Aloud?

Beauty Byte: Girls Aloud Partners With Eyelure

Eyelure has just announced that they will be joining forces with famous British girlband Girls Aloud to create a line of bespoke eyelashes. The girls, who actually wore Eyelure lashes for the duration of their Tangled Up tour last year, have had full input into the project, as they are individually designed based on their personalities and tastes.

Liz Martins (Girls Aloud Makeup Artist) said, "I have been using Eyelure lashes on the girls for years. We often customise the styles ourselves to suit each of the girls, so when the opportunity came up to create something especially for Girls Aloud, the girls were full of ideas about exactly how they wanted them to look."

Each of the five sets of lashes will also have their own distinct packaging. They are priced just under £5 a pair and are due to hit shelves in mid-April at mass retailers nationwide. For close-up images of the Girls Aloud girls and their gorgeous eyelashes, read more.

Girls Aloud Have Got Christmas Wrapped Up

Girls Aloud wrapped up in cosy winter coats in London this week, ahead of their big Christmas special show on ITV1 on Saturday. Nicola, Nadine, Cheryl, Sarah and Kimberley have already filmed The Girls Aloud Party, where tensions about Nadine's absence from the group reportedly heated up. There are rumours the other girls are pressing her to "commit or quit" while reports also suggest Nadine might be considering launching a solo career in the US. The girls were full of smiles this week, though, so let's hope this is just another one of those "Girls Aloud splitting up" rumours that won't come to fruition. If you love the girls, you've still got time to vote for them as your favourite British pop group of 2008. Get voting on all my best of 2008 polls!

Girls Aloud Get Smooching With Cute Pooches

Girls Aloud got lots of gorgeous cuddles yesterday when they launched Nintendo Dog For Life with the Dogs Trust. Nadine, Kimberley, Sarah, Nicola and Cheryl were joined by schoolchildren at the launch at Highway Farm in Uxbridge, where the girls said: "We are all dog lovers ourselves so are fully supportive of this scheme which teaches kids what looking after a dog really involves". It looks like Cheryl was particularly smitten by the pups, while Nicola got a bit of a shock over something! What a nice way for Kimberley to spend her birthday, and just-turned-27 Sarah to end her birthday week. The celebrations will continue when they sign a new megabucks deal, I'm sure.
