Say 'sayonara' to dark, vampy nails and 'konnichi wa' to soft, delicate pink nail colors for Spring 2007. Pale nails make hands look feminine and lighter shades are much easier to maintain than darker colors. Pastel pink nails also look great on super short nails.

As you may already know, the French clothing company Paul & Joe has branched out into developing beauty products. I couldn't resist writing about their ultra chic metallic nail polish color called, Etoile Scintillante, $12.
We've already acknowledged that silver polish is a super hot trend for Spring, but how do you feel about going for the gold?

We've been seeing a lot of hot pink nails lately and we've heard everyone go on about neon nails, but the only one who's really been wearing any of the other super-bright shades has been Rihanna.
I predict that all of this is about to change. With the warm weather setting in and Lindsay Lohan getting on the orange-nail bandwagon, something tells me that this trendsetter is going to jump-start a neon-nail bonanza.

You all know by now that I usually love some Wet 'n' Wild makeup. It's not just the ridiculous name — the brand makes several products that I swear work just as well as $20 or $30 versions. Their Wild Shine Nail Polish ($1.29), however, is not one of those products.

Wouldn't it look spooky coming at you in the dark: Just four sets of twinkling nails as they click-clacked on the floor? Now I've never seen this polish in person to vouch for its glimmering luminosity, but I know how nutty North is for his glow-in-the dark toys.
While it comes down to the principle of lacquered claws of any color, would the fact that this polish ($8) purportedly glows earn a glowing review from you?

Lots of cosmetic companies name their products after celebrities. In fact, there are many fragrances inspired by — or occasionally developed by — the stars. On a side note, just how many celebrity fragrances are too many, anyway?

Every year, there seems to be a highly coveted nail polish shade or two that hits the market with a frenzy. One example is last year's Metro Chic ($8) from Sephora by OPI, a perfectly muted smoky purple. Another example is Chanel's Le Vernis Nail Color in Vamp, so popular, in fact, it even has its own Wikipedia entry.

I'm loving Christina Ricci's makeup look from the recent Spike Scream Awards in LA, and lucky for us, we've got the scoop on the perfectly rosy lip gloss shade she wore as a stain while presenting the Breakout Male Performance award to Twilight's Taylor Lautner. It's from Lancôme's new lollipop-inspired La Collection Lollipop ($35 per kit). Each limited-edition gift set comes with a Color Fever Gloss — Christina wore Ma Cherie Cherry — and a Le Vernis nail polish.

Model Agyness Deyn is famous for her shock of platinum-blond hair, but at least one beauty product is more interested in her fingernails. Australian cosmetics brand Bloom has released a limited-edition nail polish called Agyness (about $15). It's around only for a little while, and to get it, you'd have to order from Down Under.
