OMG! The Hills Collection From Nails Inc Is Here

With Season Four of the The Hills available now on DVD, and thenext season gearing up for an October premiere, beauty brand Nails Inc, is launching a line of four nail varnishes to celebrate some of Hollywood's hottest young women. Week after week on the silver screen and at parties, we see Lauren, Heidi, Audrina, Whitney, Lo and Stephanie walking around Southern California with trendy and ever changing nail and toe varnishes in colours like hot pink, pretty periwinkle and totally rockin' teal (like Lauren Conrad).

My favourite shade of the bunch is Beverly Hills, a deep raspberry-red colour that looks great any season of the year. The set is available for £20 from 17th September online or at House of Fraser. For more images of each of the polishes, plus a description, just read more.

Nails Inc. Celebrates Ten Years With A Charming New Collection

This year, Nails Inc. is having it's first birthday in double digits! Creator and owner Thea Green, is commemorating the ten year anniversary of her company by adding kitchy Summery and London-inspired charms to a ten-piece limited-edition collection. Five of the colours are new for Summer (these have bikini, flower pot and beach themed charms), whilst the other five are Nails Inc. cult classics (and have a royal crown, black taxi and other souvenir-style charms).

Thea, who is now a mother of two, began Nails Inc. at the age of 23 while she was also working as an asssistant fashion editor at Tatler. She was looking to bring the quick 15 minute manicures and pedicures that New York City is so famous for, to London. A decade later, the company is comprised of 450 people with 55 outlets across the UK. All of the polishes are named after streets in London and are inspired by the style of that particular neighborhood.

Each of the polishes sell for £15 and are available starting today through the end of June. Since they all come with a different charm, the idea is to get into the spirit if collecting them and wearing them around your neck, wrist or even attaching them to your phone!

Classic Shades:

Shoreditch is a bright pink polish with a black taxi charm.
South Molton Street is a sheer medium pink. This is location of the original Nails Inc. flagship store, so it's only fitting that this polish comes with a royal crown.
Victoria is a dark, blood red that comes with a Swarovski encrusted phone box charm.
St. James is a true shiny red varnish that comes with a London bus charm.
Elizabeth Street is a pale pink polish that comes with a sparkly Union Jack charm.

New Summer 2009 Shades:

Drury Lane is a coral shade with a popsicle charm.
Fleet Street is a pale sky blue that comes with a cute bucket and spade charm.

Beauty Byte: Nails Inc Collaborates with Georgina Goodman

Don't you just love it when fashion and beauty come together? This Spring, the ever trendy Nails Inc, has teamed up with sassy shoe designer Georgina Goodman to create three varnishes (£10.50 each). The lovely lacquers are shiny, fun and are in the same colour sheme as three pairs of shoes from Georgina's 2009 Spring/Summer collection. The packaging on the polishes is GG inspired too - flirty and unique.

Shimmer is a pearlescent taupe shade that looks fabulous when paired with the elegant Nancy sandal.
Sunkissed is a matte, bronzey-tan colour that matches the snakeskin pattern on the ornate Nadia stiletto.
Miami is a bluish-seafoam green (true to the colour of the ocean and sunny skies) that will stop traffic when worn with the Nicole heel.

Expect to see the shoes and the polishes in stores from February - get excited!

Trend Alert: Grey Nail Varnish

I first remember reading about grey nail polish about a year ago and I never thought it would actually catch on. At the time, silver was big on the scene, and the multitude of metallic variations were making their splash. However, it looks like lately, grey is the polish of the posh. Recently we've seen Gwyneth Paltrow at the Two Lovers Premiere, Victoria Beckham at Beso and Lauren Conrad at the D&G boutique opening party all groomed with gloom. Below are three great grey shades for you to check out.

Models Own Nail Varnish in Grey (£6) is a cool-toned shade that dries to an extra hard finish. Two coats of this matte, concrete colour is all you'll need for a high-shine result.

Nails Inc. Charlotte Street Nail Polish (£10) is a pale grey polish with a subltle hint of shimmer. This fashionable choice stays put for up to eight days without chipping (as long as you keep reapplying a top coat every other day).

Trend Alert: Purple Reigns

Deep, dark and edgy purple nail polish is the new it colour for Winter. It's the star shade of the brand-new Chanel Bohemian Fantasy collection (more on this later), it's the most vibrant varnish from Essie's Her Royal Hotness range, and Nails Inc. has named this newbie Dover Street Market, after a chic and hip Mayfair shop.

The best part about these purples is that they pack a lot of punch. They aren't safe, wine-coloured burgundies or vampy blood-reds from year's of goth past. These purples are powerful! Hail the rocker chick in you for the naughtiest new nail trend.

Vendetta from Chanel (£15) is actually a part of the Spring 2009 collection, but it's set for a January launch (perfect for winter-time nails). Take my word when I say that this is going to be the end all be all of nail varnishes. Don't believe me? The gals at Chanel HQ have to share a bottle since the press caught wind of its release. If they can't even keep samples in stock, my bet is that it will be flying off the shelves once it hits stores!

Dover Street Market from Nails Inc. (£10.25) is the brightest of the bunch. This sleep, shiny purple polish is a perfect way to add a little sass to your hands and feet. I've tried and what I love most is that it dries quickly and dries to a true purple.
Sexy Divide from Essie (£8.50) is nothing short of electric. The shade has been categorized as a violet varnish that contains a little bit of shimmer with a lot of impact. Will you dare to wear purple nails this season?

Silver Nail Varnish Is Making a Comeback!

Silver nail polish is definitely not a brand-new trend, in fact, it was popular in the 80's and then re-surfaced about a year and a half ago with basic-coloured metallics like silver and gold. Many permutations like gunmetal, blue and chrome, spawned from the basics, while gold and silver seemed to fade with the season. Now it's back again and this time, we're seeing silver on some of Hollywood's hottest girls like Lindsay Lohan (spotted in Paris) and Paris Hilton (dressed up as a Pussycat Doll). Below are my picks for best silver varnish - do you have a favourite shade too?

Creative Nail Design in Silver Anniversary (£10) is a shiny, fast-drying metallic nail colour. It's creates a mirror-like finish lasting up to six days before showing signs of chipping and it imparts a high-shine finish.
