Hollywood may be taking a Couples Retreat this Friday, but we all know that Chevy Chase and National Lampoon put trip-themed films on the map with the Vacation series.

Now the Griswolds are back for another sequel, but this time Clark's son Rusty will be the dad commandeering the adventure. Ethan Embry played Rusty in the most recent Vegas Vacation, but a variety have actors have played the kids over the years and I'm sure we'll get a new pair this time. David Dobkin (one of the masterminds behind Wedding Crashers will produce and possibly direct, and of course the door is open for Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo to make appearances as the original Mr. and Mrs. Griswold. The Vacation movies will always hold a special place in my heart, but are you excited for the sequel?

Today Is National Depression Screening Day

Some of us say, "I'm so depressed" and refer to situational depression - something happened that bummed us out. But for some people, undiagnosed clinical depression can affect quality of life and lead, in extreme cases, to suicide if untreated.

Today is National Depression Screening Day, so if you're worried you may have more than a passing case of the blues, go to this website to find out where in your area you can get free and confidential screening for depression. The screening doesn't diagnose depression but helps lead you to qualified professionals who can provide a full assessment. You can also take their online assessment questionnaire.

Say What? National Organization For Women on Letterman

"As 'the boss,' he is responsible for setting the tone for his entire workplace - and he did that with sex. In any work environment, this places all employees -including employees who happen to be women - in an awkward, confusing and demoralizing situation."

- Terry O'Neill for the National Organization for Women reminding people that David Letterman's admitted affairs with female staffers over the years, although described as consensual, occurred in the workplace and constitute what many people would consider an abuse of power by an employer toward his employees. Because men who are bosses decide who to hire, fire, advance, and give raises to, "consent" is made between two people who are not equals. Letterman has since apologized to viewers, to his entire staff over the years, and to his wife, Regina Lasko, but O'Neill wants people to remember this happens every day in workplaces all over the country. The Beard (the Other Kind) in Pop Culture

It's National Beard Month and that doesn't just mean facial hair. Not to us anyway! A whole other beard genre's been growing since the middle of the 20th century - the gay cover-up beard, which is slang for a person of the opposite sex used as a cover for a gay partner. At its best, the beard is mutually beneficial to both partners. At its worst? A life of lies. For a long time the term was as secretive as its roots, but I've been hearing it more and more to describe not only real-life marriages, but also TV and movie couplings.

The AKC/Eukanuba National Champion Is...

Even though it was filmed in Long Beach, CA back in December, the 2008 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship premiered on TV Saturday night. Of course, this was a must-watch for North and I as we once again curled up with friends and food to see the pups.

North was pretty sad when Elmer the Boston Terrier didn't place in his group (and went in the bedroom to sulk), but the rest of us tuned in for all the results and seven finalists to come into the ring. There were several familiar faces atop the groups, too, including this pretty pointer, Ch. Cookieland Seasyde Hollyberry.

Hound: Scottish Deerhound (Ouija)

Champion of the 2008 National Dog Show (as well as a second place group finish at last year's Westminster), the pointer called "Holly" was the big winner this time, too. Even though she's a pretty pup, I was secretly pulling for Merci, brother of the 2007 AKC/Eukanuba National Champion, Charmin. We'll see more furry faces – even some of the same ones, too – at the 133rd Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show less than two weeks away!

Study Rates Norway Best Place to Live

According to an annual report by the United Nations, Norway is the most desirable country in the world in which to live, followed by Australia and Iceland. The United States ranks 13th in the study, while the UK ranks 21st. The worst places in the world to live are Niger, Afghanistan, and Sierra Leone.

The study based its findings on criteria including literacy rates, school enrollment, country economies, and life expectancy. Norway's high rank is thanks in part to the discovery of offshore oil and gas deposits in the late 1960s.

I have to say that the efficient public transit, moderate climate, and sense of community really makes the Bay Area a great place to live, while the high property tax rates, rental rates, and overall cost of living make it less affordable, and desirable, than some other cities.
