Cold season is upon us, and if you've been reading FitSugar, then you know that I do all I can to keep the bugs away. Washing my hands frequently has always been my number one defense against catching a cold, but WebMD has come up with some other natural ideas for cold prevention that I found useful as well. Plus, given the state of the economy right now, you'll be pleased to know that none of the tips will cost you a dime.

Most women experience some sort of PMS, and certain symptoms can be easier to treat than others. Ibuprofen is great for cramps, and Midol can help with bloating, but battling PMS-related irritability or depression is more of a challenge.

America's largest coffee chain has decided to jump-start its own eco-friendly food revolution: Earlier this week, Starbucks announced it would be rolling out a new food menu on June 30 as part of its "Real Food. Simply Delicious" campaign. And yesterday, the chain said it would install new water faucets in its stores as part of an environmental initiative.

Wouldn't it be great if you could get your favorite health food from a vending machine? Well, my buddy YumSugar just told me about the San Diego based company YoNaturals, and they are bringing health food to the ultimate icon of snacking convenience - the vending machine.
YoNaturals is on the front line in the battle against junk food vending machine, and I wholeheartedly applaud their efforts.

Since the FDA released a public health advisory warning parents not to give their children cold medicine, kids sick with colds and associated coughs suffered many sleepless nights. So did their parents. Luckily a new study found that honey is close to nature's own cough syrup.

It's World Vegetarian Month and many people are going meat-free for their health, but others are taking their diets to a whole new level — going raw. A raw food diet consists of consuming unprocessed, preferably organic, whole, plant-based foods, at least 75 percent of which should be uncooked.
