Buzz-Worthy Video: Sneak Peek at Chuck Season 3!

I was so excited yesterday to learn that Chuck's third season premiere has been scheduled - and it's less than two months away. Still, the big two-hour kickoff can't come soon enough for me, especially after last year's epic finale. If you feel my pain, then you need to check out this sneak peek at the upcoming season. Zach Levi (sporting a new, shorter 'do) presents a very sweet message thanking his fans for all their support before showing a brand-new clip.

Even though Chuck has been given an upgrade, he's just as goofy and lovable as ever. Casey and Sarah are back undercover as our hero tries to play debonair once again - only this time he's actually got a few skills. We also get a taste for that famous sexual tension between Chuck and Sarah. I'm already counting the days so to check it out just read more.

Robert Pattinson Talks Teeth and Love on Today Show

Robert Pattinson showed us lots of his many facial expressions during his visit to the NBC Studios in New York City yesterday for his appearance on The Today Show. He chatted about his teeth, Edward's love story, and joked that every rumour about him is true: check out a video of his interview after the jump, as well as his appearance on Regis and Kelly. Robert and his New Moon costars have been taking over the TV schedules in the US this week in the lead up to the film's release today, with their visit to Jimmy Kimmel showing tonight, but now the movie's finally out there the stars will get to enjoy a well-deserved rest. To help deal with Robert-withdrawal symptoms, check out the trailer for Remember Me, watch his interview with David Letterman, and drool over all these pictures of his day in NYC yesterday: enjoy!

More Chuck, Less Trauma, and Scrubs On the Way!

Earlier this week I broke down the ins and outs of Fall TV with my scorecard, but there are a few new developments to add. First, we've got another one to add to the R.I.P. list - NBC has pulled the plug on Trauma, and the show will be removed from the lineup after the initial 13 episodes are aired. I can't say I'm particularly sad about this development, since it means good news for one of my favorites: NBC has ordered six more episodes of Chuck, which was originally intended to have a shortened season. Plus, now that Trauma is out, it's more likely that Chuck will be back even sooner than March!

That's not all the news for today: the new (and improved?) Scrubs is officially on its way, with the season premiere scheduled for December 1 at 9 p.m. Hopefully the show will add some much-needed punch to the Tuesday night lineup which is a little lackluster right now.

So, will you miss Trauma? Or are you too excited about more Chuck and Scrubs to care?

How to Handle Your Micromanaging Boss

Although we should all be working to make ourselves indispensable at our jobs, what if you’re in a situation you just want to get out of? Gone (for now) are the days when a newer, better job was just a Craigslist search away, and the tough job market means tolerating more workplace annoyances than you might otherwise - like a micromanaging boss.

The issue: "Big picture" isn’t in your boss's vocabulary.
Your boss is constantly looking over your shoulder, giving you "helpful hints" on everything from how you organize your spreadsheets to how you phrase your emails. Although you’ve never given her a reason to doubt your reliability, she often asks if you’ve completed a task before you’ve even had a chance to start it. You’re feeling generally stifled, frustrated, and unproductive.

First, make sure there isn't a legitimate problem with your work performance. Request a check-in with your boss to discuss how you're doing, and to clarify the objectives of any projects you’re working on. Once you’re sure that your performance is up to par and you're on the same page with your boss, you can more easily address her micromanaging.

Next, tactfully ask your boss to back off - by making it sound like it's for her sake. Say something like: "I notice we’ve both been spending a lot of time on [insert project or task here], and I know you have a lot on your plate right now. Why don’t I take the lead on this and see how far I can get, and then I’ll check back in with you?"

Finally, accept that you probably can't turn your boss totally laissez-faire, so you’re going to have to meet in the middle. If you know that she needs constant updates, take the initiative to arrange regularly scheduled check-ins. You’ll have more control over the frequency of these meetings and the degree to which your boss is involved in your daily tasks, and she’ll feel reassured that you’re committed to the project in question (and your job in general).

NBC Fall Season Announced

We are still watching our favorite season finales but we have to switch gears to begin thinking about the networks new fall schedules. NBC announced theirs today and the big news is that both the Matthew Perry and Alec Baldwin have shows about the behind-the-scenes look at a late night program. These are by far the shows I am most interested in checking out. The sad news is Joey got the ax and Scrubs is once again on reserve like it was this year.

A brief look at the other new series:

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (fall): The previously announced star of the schedule that isn't football. In this hourlong drama, Friends alum Perry and West Wing alum Bradley Whitford play producers of Saturday Night Live, sorry, "a popular, late-night comedy show comedy sketch show."

Heroes (fall): "A high school cheerleader learns that she is totally indestructible." No one-trick pony, this hourlong drama about ordinary people discovering their inner Superman and Wonder Woman, also promises a stripper (Final Destination's Ali Larter) who "uncovers that her mirror has a secret."

Kidnapped (fall): Prison Break meets Dynasty in this hourlong thriller about the abduction of a teen-aged boy, and focusing on his well-to-do Manhattan family, his kidnappers and his would-be saviors in law enforcement. Best-case scenario for NBC: The show's a hit, and the kid doesn't go home for a very long time. Timothy Hutton and Dana Delany head the ensemble cast.

20 Good Years (fall): In this "high-energy romp" of a sitcom, John Lithow, 60, and Jeffrey Tambor, 61, play friends who optimistically estimate they have two solid decades left to change their lives.

30 Rock (fall): SNL head writer Tina Fey plays the head writer of SNL, sorry, "a frenetic television variety show." Frequent SNL guest host Alec Baldwin costars, as do SNL regulars current, Rachel Dratch, and past, Tracy Morgan. NBC said it was not known yet if Fey and Dratch will continue to work on the show that actually is called SNL.

America's Got Talent (January): Regis Philbin looks for new talent that presumably producer Simon Cowell isn't looking for on American Idol.

The Singles Table (midseason): Because no NBC schedule would be complete without at least one attempt to redo Friends, this half-hour comedy sees five "witty and single strangers" bond while consigned to the "singles table" at a wedding. John Cho (Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle) stars.

On Our Radar: Ports 1961 Lights the Fashion Torch For NBC

The upcoming 2008 Olympics in Beijing has designers in a frenzy to get their names heard. American sportswear brand Ports 1961 has secured a deal with NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, and the USA Network correspondents to wear its classic designs while covering the exciting events in Beijing.

“When I was first approached to create a capsule collection for the NBC Olympic Commentators, I was honored,” said Tia Cibani, Creative Director of Ports 1961. “I can relate to their hectic work schedule and the necessity to have to have easy, modern, and accessible clothing that travels well. I took into consideration each woman’s personal sense of style and fused it with the classic Ports 1961 sensibility.”

Commentators to be outfitted in Ports 1961 include NBC late-night show host and Olympic correspondent Mary Carillo, MSNBC coverage host Melissa Stark, USA Network and CNBC coverage host Alex Flanagan, and Oxygen coverage host and sports desk reporter Lindsay Czarniak. Go team USA!

When to Watch: Gymnastics

After tonight's opening ceremonies for the Olympics, the competition starts almost immediately and gymnastics are no exception. The men's qualifying rounds start Saturday, and unfortunately Morgan Hamm will not be competing. Yesterday he joined his twin Paul, a gold medalist in 2004 games, on the injured list and is out due to an ankle injury. The men's gymnastic team will carry on and I am sure it will prove exciting.

When I asked a while back, you all were most fired up about gymnastics, I thought I would post the general schedule of those events so you can watch or at least set up your TiVo.
