Net-a-Porter pretty much invented online shopping. The site has become a one stop shop for designer must haves, so naturally I had to find out what was their most coveted this Autumn. I caught up with Buying Director Holli Rogers to hear what she's got her eye on for the colder months.

Online Sale Alert: Net a Porter

Summer has barely begun, but the end of season sales are already on. Fashion is famous for moving faster than any other and that even applies to the weather, but this could benefit you if you're yet to embark on a holiday. The Net-a-Porter sale began this morning offering pieces by top designer names at a reduced price including dresses, swimwear, accessories and killer heels.

Miu Miu's slingback sandals (down from £230 to £138) are perfect for Summer parties. You could team them with a floaty dress or with cropped jeans. I also found a Milly bandeau bikini top (was £58, now £41) which is great for mixing and matching with various bikini bottoms. See by Chloé's Daytripper tote (was £400, now £240) is also on my wishlist as a fun, bright daytime bag.

If you're willing to spend designer prices, you don't want to wear your carefully selected item only to see several other people in exactly the same garment. This ends up being embarrassing for all involved so it's becoming increasingly important to source unique pieces. Stella McCartney knows this so has created an exclusive collection for net-a-porter.

What's more, she has joined forces with British artist Sir Peter Blake to create a cloud print which appears on several items throughout the line. He has previously avoided drawing clouds so it's been a new experience for them both! My favourite piece is the cloud print dress (£1,145) which will see you through from Spring to Winter.

On Our Radar: Victoria Beckham Dresses Online Now

Victoria turned her hand to dress design last year and her Spring '09 collection has been a surprise hit. It has already sold out at Selfridges, however if you're dying to get your hands on a piece from her line this could be your lucky day!

Victoria's dresses will today be available for the first time online at net-a-porter. They will be available from £1,228 later today.

Her Autumn line was unveiled at New York Fashion Week earlier this month and she wore one of her own designs to Elton John's Oscars party. Will you be purchasing one of Victoria's elegant dresses?

Exclusive Net-a-Porter Pick Their Spring '09 Fashion Buys

Today we continue the Spring picks by asking Net a Porter's head of buying and merchandising what key pieces we should be looking out for this season. Holli Rogers picked five items for us explaining, "At Net-a-Porter.com we love the idea of subverting the norm and this year we'll be wearing black in the summer - not only is it timeless and chic but it was the most prevalent color on the SS09 catwalks."

Holli starts off her selection with key pieces. "Black is always an investment buy so this spring I will be choosing classic separates like this Chloe blazer and mixing with on-trend styles such as harem pants and then basics such as Kain t-shirts."

She went on to choose the all important accessories, "Great accessories update any look so costume jewellery is a good purchase. For high impact I'll be wearing these fantastic multi-strap wedge sandals by Sigerson Morrison... and when I'm running from appointment to appointment, or show to show, I'll be donning my trusty Lanvin flats which are so comfy and fit in my bag too!"

Holli completed the look with a funky handbag, "Finish with an 80's style Chloe chain bag and Italian cult Carrera sunglasses and you have a look that will see you through the summer and beyond."

Have a Classy Halloween

This Friday is Halloween but not everybody wants to dress up as a cat, a witch or anything else ghoulish. Some people will want to dress up in a very classy party ensemble and there are many options available!

This season gothic chic appeared on the catwalk at Givenchy and Gareth Pugh so it's a particularly good time for Halloween costumes. If money is no object then there are some beautiful black dresses by Christian Lacroix (£3190) and Alexander McQueen (£1820). There are also skirts in leather and mini skirts with 'flippy' detail.

Personally, I'd be satisfied with a pair of purple patent Brian Atwood heels (£350) or a Luella ribbon dress. What would make up your ideal Halloween ensemble?

A Sneak Peek at Preen for Net a Porter

Preen is one of the most exciting British labels producing edgy yet wearable designs season on season. Their Spring 2009 show exposed the bare bones of fashion whilst staying true to the sexy, body-con designs.

For Cruise 2009 Preen have designed a capsule collection of six dresses especially for Net a Porter, featuring their designs in key colours including hot pink and cobalt blue. Here are two of the dresses from the line, the other three are similar in shape but including metallic elements and asymmetric hemlines.

The pink 'Power Dress' has already been tipped as a favourite by editors. Gwyneth Paltrow has been spotted in a similar style but in black at the Iron Man premiere earlier this year. They are perfect party dresses and will be available online from 22nd October. Prices range from £540.
