I'm sure many of you have made "exercise more" one of your New Year's Resolutions. It's great to make that decision, but it's overwhelming to think of how you can make that happen. Well New Balance and our pals over at Exercise TV have created a new online program called FITS.

Say what you will about New Jersey, but it is the first of the 50 states to create an Office of Nutrition and Fitness. The goal of the agency is to better coordinate programs to prevent obesity, most of which will be aimed at children since the Garden State has the highest percentage of overweight and obese children under age 5 - 17.7 %.
The programs will tackle the obesity problem through education, support groups and encouraging physical activity, rather than by banning particular foods.

On Monday, I asked you all to come Fit Finding with me for some new skis, poles and boots. Well, I'll tell you I can't wait to get on the mountain in some of that excellent gear. I mixed it up and picked different gear from different folks.

Kate Hudson tried to go under the radar yesterday as she arrived at LAX in a scarf and hat. She was spotted by photographers, but her traveling companion, Alex Rodriguez, was slightly more covert. He did pop up, though, when the duo landed at London's Heathrow this morning.

Food Network's Melissa d'Arabian is at the top of her game. It was only four months ago that she was announced winner of the Next Food Network Star; now her new show, Ten Dollar Dinners with Melissa d'Arabian, has been renewed for a second season.
I spoke with the energetic young mom, who seemed surprisingly grounded in spite of her recent TV success, about her whirlwind year, her show, and her favorite $10 dinner of all.

With daylight saving time, those who used to fit their workouts in after work will be left in the dark. So working out in a gym is a great option. There are so many cardio machines to choose from, ranging from the ever-popular treadmill, to the lower-impact elliptical, to the stationary bike.

The new year is sure to provoke a lot of people to begin a new fitness regime. Those with good intentions will undoubtedly want a new wardrobe to support their efforts which includes the man in your life.
Sure, the love of the gym will probably be short lived, but you can be encouraging by giving them a helping hand with their new attire.
