Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have become parents for a second time, after Nicole gave birth to a new baby brother for Harlow.

The fab news was announced on her website:

In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009 Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.

Nicole Richie had Harlow in her arms yesterday afternoon as they left a baby gym in LA. New mom Nicole just turned 28 on Monday, and she took to her Twitter to thank everyone for their birthday wishes. She has been up and about since giving birth to son Sparrow only two weeks ago, having enjoyed an outing with Joel and Harlow and a girls-only shopping trip last week. It's always a treat to see the three oldest Richie-Maddens, but we're also looking forward to getting a glimpse of baby Sparrow.

Celebaby: Nicole Richie's Baby Shower Invitation

Nicole Richie kept mum about her pregnancy until it was obvious that her tiny tummy had grown. Since being on baby bump watch, the mom-to-be has kept things low key. Oh, except for her stint in jail. Never mind that.

Our gals at PopSugar have had a watchful eye on her stylish belly and whereabouts. And, this weekend a baby shower is being thrown in the expectant mom's honor.

Hollywood's "it" party planner, Mindy Weiss is planning the festivities with Nicole's mother, Brenda and sister, Sophia and friends Masha Gordon and Paris Hilton.

It has been reported that Nicole and Joel Madden are not accepting baby gifts at the shower, but have set up a charity for guests' contributions. The Richie Madden Children's Foundation will help mothers in need. Nicole has come a long way from her days on The Simple Life.

When Joel's Away Benji Watches Over His Girls

Nicole Richie stepped out with Harlow on Friday who looked adorable all bundled up in her red outfit and hat. Harlow has the help of her infamous Sophie the Giraffe toy to help her keep smiling through the pain of teething. Meanwhile, Joel was away in Miami, but Nicole spent some quality time with Benji on Saturday, taking a sunny walk to Baja Fresh by day and hitting Club Echo by night. Apparently while spending her evenings out with Paris' ex, she fends off the ladies from Benji - talk about doting mom, protective girlfriend-in-law and BFF all wrapped in one.

Nicole Richie and her friend Vanessa Traina, Danielle Steel's daughter, wore matching jean shorts and black ankle boots for a girls' day out in Hollywood on Saturday. Nicole never stays away from her baby for too long though, taking Harlow for a stroll in Glendale on Sunday morning. The cute celebrity baby must have heard how much we loved her adorable toes, because she poked her teeny foot out of the blanket so we could sneak a peek.

It's a Girl For Nicole and Joel!

People was the first to report that Nicole Richie gave birth to a baby girl today at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. She and Joel named their first born Harlow Winter Kate Madden, who came in at 6 lbs and 7 oz. Their rep says that baby Harlow is already back at home with Nicole and Joel. We can't wait to see their precious little one. Congratulations to the new family!

Babies babies everywhere! Cedars–Sinai must be fighting off the paparazzi today with all of the baby buzz going around. Famous for being famous, Nicole Richie and Good Charlotte front man, Joel Madden welcomed a baby girl in Los Angeles. People reports that Harlow Winter Kate Madden came into their lives on Friday, January 11 weighing 6 lbs and 7oz.

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman are also expected to deliver any minute at the same hospital. Stay tuned.

Harlow Madden may be too young for coffee, but that doesn't mean she couldn't have some fun making a toy out of a plastic cup while mom Nicole got her cool drink in NYC this morning. With Harlow in her sundress and Nicole looking hot in short shorts, the girls enjoyed the steamy late Summer day in Manhattan. Last night Joel hit the stage at a VMA afterparty in LA - more on that later - and it looks like his two favorite girls are having just as much fun all the way across the country. Nicole smiled pretty at the Donna Karan show this weekend, but nothing beats seeing this twosome out together.

How's that to put a smile on your face!? Nicole Richie took Harlow for a walk around their LA neighborhood yesterday afternoon. The munchkin rocked a tie-dyed outfit and nothing on those tiny feet while relaxing in her stroller, which is just about the most precious thing ever. Even though Joel is off on tour for the moment, we all know his daughter is the star of the show and OMG his spitting image. Aww, so much love for this little family of three.
