Sneak Preview of Winter Kate by Nicole Richie

Following the success of her jewellery collection, Nicole Richie decided to branch out and launch clothing and footwear. Last month, I provided you with a first look at the LA star's premiere footwear line and now I have a glimpse of her clothing too. The line definitely channels Nicole's own bohemian style. It will be available from MyWardrobe from January 2010 and I can't wait to hear what you think!

Nicole Richie brings her hippie-luxe aesthetic to clothes, thus spawn Winter Kate. Named after her daughter Harlow's middle names, we have an added special bonus of Vanessa Traina modeling the debut collection. Come Spring, Winter Kate will deliver approximately 40 pieces. Vintage touches and soft, flowy silhouettes comprise what we see so far, prepare yourself for leather jackets, tunics, kimono tops, lingerie, and dresses, both maxi and mini. As a reality show star turned designer, new mom Nicole Richie's life is anything but simple. The woman who strutted around in heels until she was nine months pregnant with lil Harlow wants other expectant ladies to feel just as great in what will be a comprehensive maternity line. She dished about the specifics of her styles that debut later this year to Women's Wear Daily. The piece said:

"My line will be about making women look and feel good at a really emotional time. It's about showing your best self, not your tired, worn-down self. Guys don't go through that, they just don't understand," she said.

Nicole Richie Introduces Her New Baby, the Other Winter Kate

Nicole Richie had a Starbucks in hand Monday as she headed out of a salon in LA. Nicole popped in to have her hair done after just getting a few inches chopped off last month. She's sometimes partial to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf when Harlow is around, but this time she was grabbing her drink of choice without the help of her toddler. Nicole was excited yesterday when she released images of her new collection for Winter Kate, but Joel joked that he's ready to take credit for the designs.

On Our Radar: Nicole Expands Fashion Line

Nicole Richie's jewellery line has been a huge success on both sides of the Atlantic. She starred in the look book herself and has worked hard to promote her designs wearing them to countless events and making many instore appearances.

This week she has been discussing her next collection and says that we can expect it to be "focusing more on old English, equestrian and more sophisticated looks.” This means that Nicole is moving away from her bohemian influences for a more grown up look.

Due to the success of her jewellery, Nicole has decided to expand her range to include clothes and shoes, but this is very much a work in progress. She explained, “I’ve been working really hard on designing and picking the right fabrics for my Spring 2010 line.” I can't wait to see what she creates next, surely it's got to include a few maxi dresses and vintage prints.

Nicole Richie Brings Hippie-Chic Styles to Pea in the Pod

Next month expectant women who are fans of hippie-chic styles can move beyond vintage clothing stores to a new shopping resource. Known for her Bohemian baby-bump style, Nicole Richie is working with A Pea in the Pod on a collection of maxi dresses, tops, and bottoms that reflect her fashion sensibilities.

The mother to Harlow and a second babe due this Summer is also the face of the line, having played model at a recent ad photo shoot. Pregnant ladies will have to gather up the garments fast since the collection will only be available from August through January.

Less than a year ago, Nicole Richie told me she planned on adding shoes and accessories to her House of Harlow line. That she did. The mommy-to-be has just signed a deal with manufacturers Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum to create a footwear, clothing, and accessories collection. "Nicole is designing everything herself. She's totally devoted to this, and we're creating a whole lifestyle around her aesthetic and what is true to her," said Rick Cytrynbaum.

The collection, slated to launch next Spring at select department stores, will include a vast array of shoes, handbags, sunglasses, belts, and even a small apparel line - whew! Exact price points are still to be determined.

It looks like motherhood may have inspired Nicole Richie.

The new mom and style-savvy starlet has not one, but two designing enterprises on the horizon: a maternity collection and a costume-jewelry line. Both collections are currently unnamed, but Nicole did reveal the 50-piece jewelry collection is on schedule to be released this Fall, and will be carried in stores like Fred Segal and Kitson.

It's no surprise that she finally jumped on the celebrity designer bandwagon, considering how much you all love her style. Does your love extend to her newest ventures?
