Portable Chic: My Favorite DS Cases

Since Nintendo releases a new DS model every few years or so, I gotta keep mine covered and clean (so I can recycle or donate it later once I upgrade). But really, I just want to add a touch of style to my gaming to show off on the bus, plane, or wherever the need to play strikes. The Other Side of E3: Shopping!

Although my eyeballs were plastered to LCDs for the majority of E3, I managed to take some breaks and head on over to the merch booths. I picked myself up one of these DS Lite organizers, which caught my eye from their resemblance to the one that comes with the lime green DS bundle. Brought to you by Power A, who makes tons of portable gaming accessories, you can get your own case from Target (my fave), Best Buy, and even Kmart.

The tri-fold organizers not only hold your DS, but three game cartridges, and some extra styli just in case. Although I haven't seen these in my Target (trust me, I'd know), I did find them online for $15 bucks.

Monster Nintendo DS Case: Love It or Leave It?

I feel a little freer to be a goofball when it comes to cases for my Nintendo DS, since the device, as opposed to a cell phone or a BlackBerry, is not really a professional device. I don't have to be as reserved with it, whereas with my BlackBerry, the most outrageous I go is a brightly-colored gel case.

Which is why I'm nothing but charmed by this Monster DS Case! Available on Etsy for $20, the monster "eats" your device. I'd love to pulls this out on the bus, and I would definitely always say "NOM NOM NOM" when I see it, just like the seller describes it!

New Swarovski Crystal DS Lite Covers

Geeks on patrol found these dazzling crystal covers at the Nintendo World Store in NYC (except for the Super Mario Bros. DS that is not available for sale yet). You can choose from four available cover designs, if you don't mind spending $600 for a DS Lite cover.

As you know, I think of my DS Lite as an everyday delight, but I'm not sure I'd throw down for a fancy Swarovski cover. Then again, I never say never.

Missing Tycoon? I'm on the Case!

I got a surprise visit the other day from a detective and a street cop. Needless to say, it kinda freaked everyone out having an intimidating looking guy flash his badge and ask for me by name! But thankfully, they weren't here to toss me in the slammer, they were here to recruit me to play a new mystery game called Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir. And as I'm sure you've guessed by now, they didn't have to twist my arm too hard to get me to jump on board!

If you liked Professor Layton and the Curious Village, then you'll probably like MillionHeir, since the game has a similar feel. In MillionHeir, you've been brought in to help find out who has snatched up a missing wealthy tycoon. You'll go from location to location looking for clues, and use your stylus as a microscope to get a better look around. To add to the excitement, you'll only have a certain amount of time to search and check clues off your list, kinda like a word search, but with objects.
