No Doubt Suing Activision For Splitting Up the Band

Although Band Hero was just released with a star-studded lineup yesterday, and there's already word of legal trouble. No Doubt has filed suit against Activision, the maker of Band Hero, for using their likeness for songs they didn't record, as well as splitting up the band in different scenes which weren't approved. No Doubt's band manager Jim Guerinot explains:

The band [members] are bitterly disappointed that their name and likeness was taken and used without their permission. They agreed to play three No Doubt songs as a band. Activision then went and put them in 62 other songs and broke the band up [and] never even asked.

I don't know about you, but I'm a little surprised that a band as popular as No Doubt would be complaining about being "split-up" virtually and having their characters performing other tunes. It sounds a little like the other lawsuit Activision was involved in earlier this year over Kurt Cobain's avatar. What's your take on this news?

Gwen Stefani took a break from her No Doubt tour to show her Spring '10 designs for L.A.M.B. at New York Fashion Week. She also found time to talk to PopSugar about her tour experience and motherhood.

But what we were most interested in is how she chose her outfits for the tour: "It was actually quite hard because we didn't have a record coming out, so we just went back to basics and tried to pick things that were very classic. Things that I kind of - things I thought just signified me. Then we kind of summed it all up."

My favorite from when I saw ND this Summer was the black-and-white houndstooth sequin jumper - so Gwen, so Fab!

A couple weeks ago, I saw No Doubt. It was awesome seeing the whole crew back together singing all of their hits – "Sunday Morning" was my fave performance. Side note, Gwen's abs inspired me to hit the gym! Besides the music, I enjoyed seeing everyone's concert gear. Looks ranged from cutoff shorts to touches of punk. Me? I wore this fun Topshop vest with short booties and a faded jean jacket. Now it's your turn, show me what you would wear to No Doubt!

FABTV: No Doubt "Spiderwebs"

I saw No Doubt (for the second time) last weekend and was instantly reminded of the band's spectacular sound and Gwen's hypnotic allure. They opened with "Spiderwebs" and I was off and shaking my booty. Gwen did three outfit changes throughout - first, a cropped white tank, white pants, and a pointed-shoulder white blazer; second, a black-and-white sequined houndstooth jumper; and third, her favorite Current/Elliot stonewash jeans and sparkly black Fred Perry polo. If ND is coming to your town, and you're itching for a skanking good time, sign up. In the meantime, watch the band take over a stuffy wedding, and there's Gwen, stomping in her plaid pants . . . it never gets old.

Gwen's Abs Take Center Stage on Her Procrastination Tour

Gwen Stefani brought out her crop top to show off her six pack on Saturday night during No Doubt's show in Vancouver. She's apparently referring to her band's time on the road as their "procrastination tour," though there wasn't anything half-hearted about the push-ups and dancing she did onstage. Gwen and her boys have only a few more weeks of performances scheduled, and she seems like she's in shape to wrap things up on a high note.

Kingston Practices His Cool Rocker Smirk

Gwen Stefani took the stage with No Doubt in West Palm Beach, FL, last night, and she had a special someone watching her from the audience. Kingston wore his stylish hair and kept his ears protected with huge headphones as he watched his mom perform. He and his brother have been taking turns traveling with both their mom and dad, and Kingston already looks comfortable leading the touring lifestyle even at three years old.

Kingston Rossdale showed off his new 'do yesterday as Gwen Stefani carried him into Jimmy Kimmel's LA studio, while Zuma followed close behind in his nanny's arms. Gwen and her No Doubt bandmates recorded a performance for Jimmy's show that will air tomorrow. The group also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show this morning, following their gig in Las Vegas over the weekend. Gwen looked like she was happy to be back in rock-star mode as she signed autographs after last night's taping, ready to take the stage yet again this evening for a show in Fresno, CA.
