Jonathan Ross was presented with a Music Industry Trusts' award by George Michael last night, for his "hugely influential exposure for new artists". There was a video tribute shown at the event too, where stars like Will Smith, Sir Tom Jones, Cheryl Cole and U2 sent messages and thanks to Jonathan. The man himself called the award itself "shoddy", but got serious when he said, ''But it's what it represents...

Royalty, socialites and music stars all gathered in London last night to celebrate the re-opening of Chinawhite. Natalie Imbruglia wore a red lace dress from Pearl Lowe's Peacocks range, while Princess Beatrice combined red with blue, black and white. Chelsy Davy went for an all-black ensemble as did Jo Wood, Leah Wood and Sara McDonald, who looked like she was having great fun with Noel Gallagher!

Following another cancelled gig — this time at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris — Noel Gallagher has announced that he has quit Oasis. Friction with his brother Liam Gallagher caused the split, with the support band having to announce that the band would not be performing tonight, following an "altercation in the band". Tonight, Noel has stated:
"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.

Oasis' spokesperson has played down reports that Liam Gallagher stormed off during a gig at London's Roundhouse after beer was thrown at the stage, stating that he always leaves during Noel's songs. Despite this there was obviously some tension, as when Liam walked offstage Noel said, "I think someone's in a bad mood," and later he blogged:

- Madonna was injured when a photographer scared her horse and she fell from the saddle at the weekend. Her publicist Liz Rosenberg said: "The accident occurred when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by paparazzi who jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer, who was visiting friends on Eastern Long Island over the weekend. Madonna will be having further tests and will continue to remain under observation by doctors."

Russell Brand had a late night in London last night, leaving his "testosterousers" behind again as he left Claridges with some friends in actual trousers! Russell and Noel Gallagher's TalkSPORT radio show starts on Sunday night at 9pm, with the pair waxing lyrical about their favourite sport — football.
