Continuing with my harvest colors theme (check out yesterday's Down With Brown post), today I've rounded up some gorgeous interiors that feature orange. While it may not be your go-to color when it comes to interiors, as you'll see, it's a wonderful choice for adding warmth and spark to a space.

I thought I'd continue the talk of warm colors with one color that's very trendy these days: orange. I see orange paired often with deep grays in spare, contemporary spaces. But it looks equally smart in traditional rooms, paired with turquoise or navy. A room painted in orange, or even a chair upholstered in orange, probably wouldn't be my thing. But I do like orange used in accents, especially if the color is continued throughout the room. So I thought I'd round a few up. From clocks and candles to wall hooks and letter trays, orange comes in all shapes, forms, and functions.

Fall Style: Orange Exteriors

Orange isn't just for pumpkins. While it's one of the more unusual colors for painting the exterior of your home, it can look great when executed well. I especially love the bright, poppy colors of this home. While it's a bold choice, I think that the colors work really well together. The turquoise blue outlining the door frame offsets the orange of the exterior, as well as the bright colors of the door panels.

Fall Style: Chic Pink and Orange Halloween Décor

Now is the time to start thinking about your Halloween décor. But before you go deck your house in all black and orange, consider another color. Lovely Little Vignettes member Bonchic1 chose a pink and orange palette, rendering her Halloween décor more chic than spooky, yet still festive. She also used glittery pumpkins, crystal candlesticks, and a mirrored tray, creating a truly glamorous display. I love it! I know the Halloween season is short, but I've always been cautious of having a black and orange palette in my home; it doesn't look right for some reason. So I'm really inspired to expand my Halloween colors now!

Of her Halloween decorations, Lovely Little Vignettes member Cocoangel says, "When I didn't have the size or color of candles for my candle holders, I just used ceramic pumpkins and silk fall leaves instead." Fun! I can't wait for Halloween!

2010 Spring New York Trend Alert: Naranja

Though I don't have a lot of it in my closet (do any of us?), I quite enjoy naranja, aka orange. It's optimistic, energizing, youthful - it is FitSugar's color, after all. Amongst all the white, neutrals, and grays of Spring, orange stood out to me at once. Red is Fall's favorite fiery hue, so it's no surprise its tangy sister has stepped in for Spring. Diane von Furstenberg didn't hold back - Chanel Iman is double layered in orange goodness. In need of a new outlook on life? Nibble on some naranja.

Nothing rhymes with orange, nothing really goes with orange, and most people don't even wear orange (unless you're a Fall or daring by nature), but it sure looks spectacular on gadgets! Have You Ever Painted a Room Orange?

I once painted my office a color called Tequila Sunrise, and the vibrant cantaloupe shade really made me productive (or at least, I think it did). While orange is a tricky color to get right, it can look fantastic in the right space.

How does the Zeppelin song go? "Measuring a summer's day, I only finds it slips away to gray, the hours, they bring me pain . . . " OK, actually kinda depressing. Miranda Kerr is anything but in her tangerine, tangerine. Like my most wanted tangerine Topshop beanie, Miranda's tangy blouse is uplifting. Times are still tough, let's help keep heads up by donning a happy color. Even in small doses, via a belt or bag, tangerine oozes tranquility. Tangerine, tangerine.

Nice and New: Flor Sitting Pretty Rug

Flor tiles have always seemed casual to me, modern and piecemealed as they are. The new Sitting Pretty Rug ($374.70 for 8x10), though, looks striking and fresh in this formal living room. No, it's not a stuffy Persian import, but step onto its brilliant orange-and-pink stripe pattern and you'll feel like you're somewhere. I adore orange-enhanced beauty products almost as much as I love honey ones. They can be sweet, tangy, or sometimes a little of both. And even though I'm fair-skinned, I'm quite a sucker for orange-coloured cosmetics too.
