Motherhood is hot and television will be cashing in on it this Fall when a bunch of new shows focused on matriarchs hit the small screen. We've discussed TV producers' inability to capture parenthood in the past, but this season's crop of sitcoms and dramas looks promising. There aren't many parenting shows on the networks these days that resonate with real life moms and dads. Sitcoms like Notes From the Underbelly and In the Motherhood were just too over the top. But, now it looks like one hour long show in NBC's Fall lineup may break the cycle of canceled shows.

This morning on the Rachael Ray Show, Rachael asked Jennifer Lopez if Marc Anthony was a hands-on daddy and the mother of two joked that since she was on television, she'd say he was great. The quadruple threat — actress, singer, dancer, and postpartum triathlete — was pure mama when she talked about their one-year-old twins Max and Emme's personalities. Since the kids made Jennifer a first-time mom, she credits her husband, who was already a father of three, with teaching her about parenthood.

Made famous by her family's everyday antics on Bravo's show, The Real Housewives of New York City, Alex McCord has written a parenting book that will hit bookstore shelves at the end of this year or the beginning of next. Rather than an instructional read, the text will be a he said, she said penned by Alex and her hubby, Simon, about raising their young sons — Francois, 5, and Johan, 3, — in an urban environment. And, since they don't always agree, Alex said it makes for an interesting read.

Fit for motherhood, Jessica Alba is this month's Fit Pregnancy cover girl. In the accompanying interview, the mama-to-be was vocal about how she and her fiancé, Cash Warren will raise their babe. While the actress suspects her baby daddy will sneak their tot to McDonald's much to her chagrin, she is serious about her maternal role.
