Spring 2010 Paris Runway Beauty Trends

Having spent the past couple of months checking out all of the beauty looks from some of the hottest catwalks in London and New York, now it's time to re-cap all of the outlandish, classical and pretty hair and makeup styles from the 2010 Spring Paris Shows. Below are three different trends and one post about how to take these trends and incorporate them into your everyday life. I don't know about you, but I can never get enough of fashion week, so I'm happy now that the four major cities are out of the way that we can move on to see what some of the smaller cities like Madrid, Los Angeles and Miami have to offer!

10 Fashion Observations, Straight From Paris

My recent trip to Paris left me inundated with chic fashion observations. Whether I was window shopping on Rue Saint-Honoré or strolling down Rue St. Germain, I would always spot a cool trend, another form of inspiration for my closet. Left and right, effortlessly gorgeous women on bikes and on foot would stop me dead in my tracks. It's a mystery how they don't brush their hair and barely wear makeup, but look so damn good. Bella, any ideas? Fashion-wise, we all know that Parisians love, love, love black. Even visitors, like L'Uomo Vogue editor Giovanna Battaglia, get sucked into the black hole when they go. Fab Face: Lily Donaldson

Trend Alert: Pasty White Faces for Spring

Now that Paris Fashion Week is finally over, it's time to round up another beauty trend from the hottest fashion shows that France has to offer. Red lips have been and will always be in style, as will sexy, bed head hair. But a little more fashion forward and racy is next season's modern take on the white Geisha face.

At the Alexander McQueen show, faces were painted a sparkly, almost iridescent white colour. At John Galliano for Christian Dior, skin was uber pale and accentuated with dark plummy lips and eyes, and at the Tim Hamilton show, faces and lips were a sheer white shade. I don't know if I'd be brave enough to rock this trend, but it sure does make a statement. How about you - would you ever paint your face white for a party other than Halloween?

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2010: Giles

Paris Fashion Week came to a close yesterday as British designer Giles Deacon took his place for the first time in the French capital. He won ANDAM sponsorship earlier this year as his brand continues to expand. Yesterday's show was feminine with an edge, as soft ruffles were contrasted against metallic body armour. He was inspired by toxic spiders, ballerinas and dinosaurs (which is most obvious from the accessories). There were pastel shades alongside metallics with fifties silhouettes and flaring tulle skirts.

Giles admitted he did have to change his style slightly for Paris commenting, "You have to make it more concise here. I just wanted to do more real-life, obtainable clothes." It certainly was a more commercially viable collection, but that doesn't mean that he lost his edge. Quirky prints and chic metallics keep the collection interesting.

Leigh Lezark must be planning an amazing Spring wardrobe as she has attended plenty of shows over the past month. We spotted her in London and she's been a front row fixture in Paris. She attended the Fendi O party earlier in the week where Pixie Lott performed. Leigh wore an ensemble that mixed textures including tweed, sheer chiffon, and leather trousers. Over the course of the week, Katy Perry has been dressing to the nines for catwalk shows and parties during Paris Fashion Week. Not only has her clothing and her makeup changed, but she's been slightly varying her hairstyles whilst staying true to her signature retro curls. Yesterday at , her hair was pulled back on one side with a black and silver flower in it before she changed into a ball gown to attend the John Galliano show. The day before, she was front and center at Castelbajac with her hair half up, and on Monday, she attended Jean Paul Gaultier wearing her hair all down.
