Pretty Penelope Defends Crazy Cruise

Not only is Penelope pretty, but she's super nice too. She is one of the few to defend Tom's crazy behavior and is backing his love for Scientology. She doesn't get why the media won't leave her ex-boyfriend alone, and he is just misunderstood. Here's more:

"I can only say good things about Tom. I know him pretty well, so I know what I'm talking about. Tom and I are good friends and in many ways he's shown me to have a kind heart. Scientology is positive. When you read a book of Buddhism, you could apply it to your life in any way you need to, so with a book of Scientology it's the same thing. I think we should respect all religions."

Mr. and Mrs. Cruise's LA Wedding Celebration

Tom and Katie celebrated this weekend with their friends and family who couldn't make it to Italy. The party was held at Tom's good friend and business partner Paula Wagner's estate and once again it was a star studded affair. Oprah may have been left off the list, but J Lo and Marc, Tom's ex Penelope and Denzel were just a few of the lucky ones who made it to the fabulous party in LA. Here's more:

Guests started arriving around 6 p.m., with Mr. and Mrs. Cruise, along with daughter Suri, arriving in a three-vehicle armada of tinted-out black SUVs around 6:40 p.m. Cruise's two children with Nicole Kidman, Connor and Isabella, arrived separately in a Bentley. (The entire family spent the earlier part of the day watching the older kids play soccer in L.A.)

Ostensibly, the party was a celebration for those who couldn't make it to Rome for the couple's Nov. 18 nuptials and a who's-who of Hollywood royalty descended upon the affair in style. Steven Spielberg and Cate Capshaw pulled up in a Bentley, Oliver Stone arrived in a silver Porsche and Orlando Bloom kept it on the down low, driving himself in a yellow VW Bug. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, who were at the Bracciano, Italy, wedding, turned up for Saturday's soiree in a Rolls Royce.

Tents were erected to shelter the 300 guests from the night's rainfall. The entire affair cost an estimated $400,000, reports E! Online senior editor Marc Malkin.

Penelope Not Invited to Tom's Wedding?

Penelope continues to impress with her performance in Volver, as well as in person at multiple publicity events. Last night she was looking fabulous in her little black dress in NYC at yet another private screening. She's obviously not upset that she's not going to her ex-boyfriend Tom's wedding. She and Oprah should have a chat. Still, she won't be sitting home alone this weekend. She's evidently going to be busy doing publicity for Volver and the film is already selling out every show!

Penelope Saw Suri

It's another Suri sighting to be documented! Tom's ex, Penelope Cruz, said she too has seen the baby we are all wondering about. Penelope said, "She's really beautiful. She's one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen." Everyone keeps saying how beautiful she is... these are serious expectations Suri has to live up to now. Someday we will get our chance... someday.

The Men and the Women Stay Casual at the Spirit Awards

The women at the Independent Spirit Awards looked beautiful but kept things more casual with their shorter dresses for the afternoon event. Anne Hathaway shined in her off-white dress with feminine details as many other actresses showed off their flirty styles. Cameron Diaz rocked the stripes, as did Michelle Williams in her sleeveless dress with pockets. Mary-Kate stood out with her shoulder pads and long sleeves and the award-winning Penelope Cruz - who had a run in with ex Tom Cruise the night before - look perfect in a frilly hemmed brown dress.

Meanwhile, the men ranged from jeans to suits, but still looked handsome as usual. James Franco didn't manage to shave for the event but wore his pinstripes proudly. Aaron Eckhart, Emile Hirsch and Blair Underwood sported the denim look while Mickey Rourke had fun running around the blue carpet chatting with everyone. Penelope Cruz Doesn't Need a Trophy to Start Celebrating

Penelope Cruz's hectic schedule showed no signs of slowing down as she arrived in London earlier today. While she left the SAG Awards empty-handed on Sunday, she was the guest of honor at a party in LA last night. Her close friend Salma Hayek threw a bash at her home celebrating Penelope's Oscar nomination with stars including Scarlett and Ryan, Ashton and Demi, Drew Barrymore, and Colin Farrell. Salma served tapas and sangria but still made sure to take a time-out from playing hostess to tuck baby Valentina into bed. With the Oscars just a few weeks away, it sounds like Tom Cruise isn't the only one in Penelope's corner.

Tom Cheers on His Ex While More Baby Rumors Surface

Tom Cruise paraded Valkyrie to Rome this morning, one stop closer to that visit with Beckham in Milan he mentioned. During his stop in Madrid yesterday, Tom expressed his Oscar hopes, including, sweetly, a win for his ex Penelope Cruz. His No. 1 woman, Katie Holmes, hasn't joined him for this leg of the trip, but Mrs. Cruise certainly didn't look pregnant when she presented at the SAGs this weekend. There are still rumors, however, that another baby is on the way, which would be fun and not too much of a surprise in 2009.

Penelope, Charlize, Anna and Kylie were just a few of the lovely ladies who came out for the Christian Dior Cruise Collection 2008 show in NYC last night. The models were all vamped up showing off some colorful designer duds while the A-Listers wore black and Penelope, for one, couldn't be bothered to brush her hair. Seriously, what's with that mess?

Penelope and D&G Do Good

The lovely ladies of Hollywood came out to support a good cause last night with D&G and Penelope Cruz. Not only is Penelope up for a Golden Globe, but she has partnered up with the fabulous brand to create an online auction benefiting The Art of Elysium. She hosted the event at the Chateau Marmont, so no wonder young Hollywood was eager to attend. The event brought out LL, the Olsens, Mischa, Jessica, Eva and more to check out Penelope's stunning D&G gowns which will be up for auction along with the original sketches until January 8th. Cruz was personally fitted for each of the pieces available for auction, including a 2006 pre-fall collection fitted black strapless chiffon gown with black polka dot detail and fishnet train she wore to The Bandidas premiere in Mexico City; a spring 2006 runway finale white corseted eyelet gown with ruffle detail and train worn at the a Volver screening at the Palacio de la Musica Cinema in Madrid; a custom-made black-and-white floral print party dress she wore to the Volver premiere at the Cannes Film Festival; and a 2007 cruise collection light blue pleated chiffon gown with cap sleeves she donned for the Berlin premiere of Volver.

Pretty Penelope in Cannes

Penelope Cruz premiered her latest movie, "Volver" at the Cannes film festival this weekend. Hollywood Reporter said the hot new couple was Penelope and her director, Pedro Almodovar. Apparently they had a mutual admiration for each other during the press conference. She said, "My career and even my life wouldn't be the same without him. (In) whatever subject he touches on film, he really explores every layer. He's so brave to put out there what he sees, and he never judges his characters." Wouldn't it be nice if everyone got along so well with their bosses?

She looks amazing in that dress. Apparently she avoided any questions about her ex, Tom Cruise and she spoke about preferring to be an outsider in Hollywood. Sorry ladies, but for those who were asking, she is still with Matt but he was just not there since he was busy working in the States.
