All of the nominees who chose to walk tonight's BAFTA Awards red carpet wearing their hair up came out on top. About halfway through the glamorous coverage, the skies opened up and the rains came pouring down. Luckily, umbrellas and willing assisants were there to shield the dresses, tuxedo's and all of the hard work of makeup artists and hair dressers. I loved the extravagance of Penelope Cruz, the relaxed undone plaits on Emma Watson and the traditional elegance of Amy Adams the most. Out of these eight looks, which updo is your favourite?

Penelope Cruz's Oscars Look: Love It or Hate It?

Looking at Penelope Cruz reminds me what real Oscar glamour is all about. She really is lovely with her poufed half-up/half-down hair, smoky eye and natural-looking lipstick and blush. Do You Stick With One Stylist?

Pretty Penélope Cruz just got a bang-up haircut from Beverly Hills stylist Chris McMillan. The in-demand guru is the man behind most of Jennifer Aniston's "Friends" cuts, and he's also snipped the hair of Courteney Cox and Rebecca Romijn. Word on the street is that Penélope is loyal to Chris-and frankly, if my hair wound up looking like hers all the time, I'd stick with him, too.

Unfortunately, I recently moved thousands of miles away from my favorite stylist. Now I'm searching for a new one, going from one salon to the next until I find the right fit. Do you do this, too? Or, like Penélope, do you tend to find one stylist and stay?

Penelope Cruz Has Two Things to Talk About in Vanity Fair

Penelope Cruz has made headlines lately due to speculation over her possible pregnancy, but she's on the cover of November's Vanity Fair to discuss her two upcoming films, Nine and Broken Embraces. She showed off her sexy back and even touched on Javier Bardem, revealing that he's the superior air guitarist in the relationship. Here's more:

On being a worrier: "I've always been a worrier. Since I was a little girl I've always felt that if I had a moment of peace I'd wonder: Are you sure you can afford to feel like this?"
On working with Almodovar again: "Pedro would push me to the limit. He really knows how to press all my buttons. You can only go into something like that when it's somebody you really trust. I always feel like he's my safety net. Like I can fly and go far, because he's going to catch me. The biggest [panic] attack I had during the movie was the scene where, for the first time, Lena [her character] makes the decision to try to become an actress. I don't know what happened to me that day, but before and after we filmed I could not breathe."
On hanging out at her mom Encarna's hair salon as a child: "It was my first acting school. I would pretend to be doing my homework, but I was really observing the women. I found their behavior mesmerizing - what they were hiding, how they left feeling a little different after they'd been helped to become a little more like whom they wanted to look like. They treated the place a little bit like a psychologist's office."
On comparing kissing Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron in movies: "No matter how I answer that I will be in trouble. Both were pretty beautiful partners."

It's Always Bikini Season For Fergie

Fergie flaunts her bikini body on the July cover of Allure. Inside the magazine, she sports a few different bathing suit styles, including this revealing black number. She sat down to chat all about the Black Eyed Peas' new album and tour, her role in Nine, and her marriage to Josh Duhamel. Here are highlights:

On staying beautiful on the road: "I need structure. I need to get enough sleep. I need to make sure that I'm having regular workouts, and that they put in time for hair and makeup and nails, because I do have to get my nails done . . . I have to get my roots touched up and get facials, because when you're traveling, the skin doesn't look as nice."
On what she and Penelope Cruz ate to gain weight for Nine: "Everything fried and full of fat and salty . . . we were eating our brains out."
On keeping things spicy with Josh: "Oh, girl, I've got a big chest of fun little numbers, ones that I would never wear in public."

Leonor Greyl Gives the Star Treatment

Recently, I was invited to the Carmichael Salon in San Francisco for a customized Leonor Greyl Parisian HairSpa scalp and conditioning treatment. The natural hair care line is a favorite of French women, as well as celebrities like Jessica Alba and Penelope Cruz. It's even what Gwen Stefani's stylist plans on using on the songstress throughout the No Doubt 2009 world tour.

As for my deep conditioning service, four different treatments were applied to my dry hair and scalp after a brief consultation: The Huile de Palme ($42) to detangle and nourish; the Regenerescence Naturelle ($42) oil to increase scalp circulation; the Masque Quintessence ($137.50) for deep conditioning; and Crème aux Fleurs ($37) to cleanse and hydrate. I have to admit that with the myriad oils and creams that were slapped on my hair and scalp, I feared my finer-textured locks would wilt under the rich intensity. Did they? In actuality, my hair was shiny and had lots of bounce when I walked out the door. (However, if you don't like floral scents, this treatment might not be for you, as the aromas lingered for a few days.) The best part? The products are free of coal tars, parabens, sulfates, and silicone. Plus, who wouldn't love the unique cooling sensation provided by the seafoam green-colored Crème aux Fleurs? A tension-relieving scalp massage doesn't hurt, either.

All The Winners From The 2009 BAFTA Awards!

What a night! I've just got back from the BAFTA Awards 2009, so - without further ado - here are all the winners! Slumdog Millionaire had a very successful evening, winning seven awards including Best Film and Director for Danny Boyle, Kate Winslet took home the Leading Actress award for her role in The Reader, while Mickey Rourke made a fantastic amusing speech when he picked up the award for Leading Actor.

The late Heath Ledger was awarded Supporting Actor, Penelope Cruz took home Supporting Actress and the lovely Noel Clarke was awarded the Orange Rising Star Award. The long list of award presenters included Shia LaBeouf, Goldie Hawn, Sharon Stone, Emma Watson, Jim Sturgess and Kylie Minogue while Jonathan Ross presided over the ceremony itself.

How-To: Get Penelope Cruz's Golden Globes Glow

Last night at the Golden Globes Awards in Los Angeles, Spanish actress Penelope Cruz arrived on the red carpet wearing a strapless Armani Privè gown and had her hair styled half up and half down with height at the crown and fringe in the front.

Her makeup was classic, elegant and all Chanel (I should've guessed). Lucky for us, her makeup artist Jeanine Lobell, has decided to dish on all of the colours and techniques that she used to make Penelope look so pretty. Jeanine really wanted to focus on enhancing her big brown eyes and so she decided to keep her skin and lips neutral to help complement the nude dress.

FACE:Jeanine began by using a tinted moisturizer (lighter than foundation),
and set it with Poudre Cristalline Ultra-Fine Translucent Powder for a soft finish. This powder is colourless and also has brightening properties.

CHEEKS: To ensure that Penelope's cheeks were natural, warm, yet had a slight rosy flush, Jeanine decided to use light sweeps of Powder Blush in Rose Petale starting from the apples of her cheeks and pulling the brush towards the top of her ears.
EYES: Since the goal of this beauty look was to accentuate Pen's eyes, Jeanine started with a bone-coloured base shadow and then applied Silky Eye shadow duo in Brun-Express. She used the matte brown shade to make the lid nice and smoky and blended the colour all the way into the crease. Next, she added brown shadow under her eye and then lined the inner and outer rim of her lower and upper lashes with Intense Eye Pencil in Noir. Then, she smudged the top line and applied two coats of Inimitable Mascara in Noir on the top lashes only.
LIPS: OK, so maybe I stretched the truth a little bit about all of the product being Chanel. Apparently Penelope opted to use her own nude lip liner which was applied all over, and were then topped with a clear gloss. This creates subtle colour with sexy shine.
