Much like Penelope Cruz, I've got a sister who's a total knockout. She's taller, thinner, her smile is brighter and she's naturally blonde. I've always loved having such a pretty role model in my life, but I'm no saint.

Things are good now, but there was definitely a time when I was a little bit jealous that she never had to dye her roots. I'd buy cooler hair scrunchies and better lip gloss than her just to make myself feel good. What about you? Are you competitive with your siblings when it comes to your looks?

Love It or Hate It? Monica Cruz's Mango Beauty

To celebrate the Spring/Summer 2009 catwalk show of her collection for Mango, Penelope Cruz's sister pulled out all the stops for a glamorous look. She opted for screen siren red lipstick at the event in Barcelona. While I love this colour on her, personally I think the bright lipstick seemed slightly over the top when combined with her dark, kohl-lined eyes and super short dress.

Monica's hair certainly looked shiny and healthy though. She wore it half pulled up with plenty of volume at the crown for a retro effect. What's your opinion on her fashion show look?

Penelope and Javier Invite Woody on Their French Vacation

Penelope Cruz wore some very loose-fitting clothes while lounging around the French Riviera with Javier Bardem earlier today. We wouldn't expect the private couple to ever address the rumors that Penelope is pregnant, but the recent string of flowy shirts and extra affection doesn't quiet them either. She and Javier welcomed Woody Harrelson and other guests who headed out together on a boat this morning. There's something about the South of France that gets Penelope and Javier to cozy up together though we'll see if she takes after her lookalike sister who stripped down to her bikini while on vacation over the weekend.

Scarlett Heads to Madrid to Pose For Mango

Scarlett Johansson took off from LA on Saturday and headed to Madrid, where she was introduced as the new face of Mango at a press conference this morning. She's following in the footsteps of the brand's former celebrity model, Penelope Cruz, who appeared in a few season's ads with her sister Monica. Scarlett's latest endeavor comes just as her husband, Ryan Reynolds, nabbed a sought-after role in the Green Lantern. We don't see them together often, but it looks like married life is treating both Scarlett and Ryan very well.

Penelope Adds a Goya to List of Award Season Honors

Penelope Cruz hopped from the Rome set of Nine to Madrid, where she walked the green carpet at last night's Goya Awards alongside her sister Monica and Benicio del Toro. Benicio took home the Best Actor statue for Che, and Penelope was crowned Best Supporting Actress for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. She's no stranger to the podium at the Goyas, but she was still deeply touched by the honor. Penelope didn't stick around Europe long - she made it to LA to attend today's Oscars luncheon. She recently opened up about her nomination, saying,

It’s not a lie that it is an honor to be nominated, and if I don’t win, I won’t be any less honored, but . . . look, ask anyone who is nominated. No matter what you think you feel about awards, when you’re there, sitting in that seat, with those people, all dressed up - of course you want to win!

She's facing stiff competition on Feb. 22, but she just got some extra practice yesterday delivering an acceptance speech.

Penelope Continues to Laugh off Rumors

Penelope continues to joke about the rumors that her and Salma Hayek are lovers. Letterman sat her down last night and brought up the subject in a round about way. Penelope was talking about her love of photography which prompted David to show the audience a few pics that Penelope had taken of Salma for Interview magazine. This of course led to David delving a little further into their relationship. Here's more:

"That day was funny, because we are both very bossy, but that day I was, like, 'Today, I give the orders,'" she said, describing the day of the photo shoot. "So I put her in a swimming pool for hours and hours. And she behaved really well. She listened to everything."

Then Letterman brought out a photo of Hayek and Cruz on the red carpet at an unnamed event. In the shot, the two actresses were facing away from the camera. Noting Cruz's left hand on Hayek's derrière, Letterman said, "Here's somebody giving her the old hi-ho."

"You know what they've been saying because of that picture?" Cruz asked. "We are like sisters and we have some sense of humor. We did that in front of 100 photographers. And the story now is that we are lovers."

She added, "I'm sorry to say that is not the case."

It's great that Penelope can laugh off the whole thing so easily. If anything she seems to be embracing the racy rumors. That's one way to keep people talking! For pics just read more

Penelope Cruz Brings Spanish Style to Vogue

Penelope Cruz is on the cover of this month's Vogue, looking radiant in a Spanish-themed shoot acting out bull fighting and flamenco dancing scenes with her sister (and fashion collaborator) Monica and BFF Pedro Almodóvar. While she doesn't discuss her romance with Javier, Penelope does gush about Pedro and open up about a near death experience a few years back. Here's more:

On Pedro Almodovar: "I became completely obsessed with Pedro. Then he called me when I made my first movie, Jamón, Jamón. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was drying my hair in the bathroom, and somebody said, 'Almodóvar is calling.' I couldn't believe what I was hearing - I'd dreamed about that moment for so long . . ."
On her epiphany after an airplane emergency: "It was to do with daring. I thought, 'Have I, through insecurity, not said the things I meant to say, not done the things I meant to do? That was incredibly important to me, and it has changed my life."
On her childhood aspirations: "I was looked at as a Martian. To imagine the life that I have now - all the traveling, the opportunities - would have been impossible."

Even if she couldn't imagine the life she has now as a child, things are looking pretty good for Penelope. Between the affections of Pedro and Javier, as well as her sky-rocketing film career, Penelope doesn't have too much to regret these days.

Famous Sisters Ride Solo and Take a Bite Out of Mango

Mango relaunched its SoHo store last night with dinner at Shang, a party, and some celebrities to help celebrate. While Mary-Kate was over in Dubai, Ashley Olsen posed by herself in a casual all black dress. She rolled solo, but rumor has it Ashley's boyfriend Justin is moving in to her LA house as things get more serious between the two. The $1 million bribery lawsuit he had to pay didn't seem to bother Marc Jacobs much as he once again wore a skirt and smiled with his boyfriend Lorenzo. Even without sister Penelope, Monica Cruz was there to support their clothing line in the store, and Solange Knowles sang for the crowd as everyone enjoyed a little Mango.

Mas on Penelope and Monica Cruz for MNG Mango Limited-Edition Collection

You may have been blown away by the uncanny resemblance of the Cruz sisters - weren't we all - but we're blown away by their upcoming limited-edition collection for MNG Mango. When we first heard about Penelope and sister Monica's fashion endeavor we were skeptical, what with all the recent celebrity-turned-designers. But after seeing the sultry duo in pieces from their collection, I'm pretty stoked!

Word on the street is the collection will hit stores September 19 and consist of red-carpet-inspired evening wear, jeans, knits and daywear, based on vintage pieces from their own wardrobes. According to Penelope:

“This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. We just had to find the right people to do it with. We’ve always loved clothes – we used to hide in the bathroom with fashion magazines and say, ‘I want that one.’ We’d get a pencil and mark the pictures, and show how we’d transform them at home.”

Crafty and beautiful - say it isn't so. I think this celeb sister tag team may be giving another sister designer team a run for their money, ahem Miller sisters. The Cruz sisters definitely have sex appeal and juicy pouts but, most importantly, what do you all think of the clothes?!

Penelope Cruz looked chic in her purple shirt and high waisted skirt earlier today at a Madrid press conference for her upcoming film Elegy, and gorgeous in gold at the premiere. Things are pretty busy for Penelope these days - she's been showing off her line for Mango and working on Broken Hugs, the latest film by her BFF Pedro Almodovar. Beyond all that, there have been rumors of an upcoming wedding for her and Javier, though we're not sure how she'd find the time to plan it!
