Studies have associated lack of sleep with serious health problems such as an increased risk of depression, obesity, cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes.

The bill for this year's Royal Variety Performance included Leona Lewis, Take That, Jimmy Carr and gorgeous Josh Hartnett, and was filmed last night at the London Palladium. Before he headed out to Soho Josh appeared on stage in front of Prince Charles in the annual show which also included Rihanna, the Pussycat Dolls, Josh Groban and Duffy on the bill. The performance will be aired on December 17 on BBC1, but until then here's a sneak peek at gorgeous Josh and Mark Owen in their all-black suits as well as glimpses of some of the other performers from last night as they left the Palladium.

John Mayer performed in Toronto on Tuesday night before twittering he was taking a break from the stage for the holiday. He has something big to be thankful for since Battle Studies reached number one on the Billboard 200. John managed to find new ways to talk about his sex life and dating history while he's been out promoting the album, but according to him the music is what matters, and it seems the fans agree.

We are nearing the end of the year and many companies are gearing up for annual employee performance reviews. There isn't universal support for this type of review process that often involves written feedback from managers regarding their employees, usually presented in person in a one-on-one or two-on-one format. So, you finally voted John & Edward out of The X Factor, but — good or bad — one thing I don't think you can deny is that they were incredibly entertaining over the final live shows. Out of all of the acts they certainly had the most choreography and biggest stage shows, possibly to make up for their less than perfect pitch, but the boys worked hard. Leighton Meester stepped off of the Gossip Girl set and onto the stage for a performance of "Somebody to Love" during her appearance on It's On With Alexa Chung yesterday. Although most of you were into her sound, you were totally split on her steamy video and thought her sexy photo shoot was too much. Taylor Swift hit the stage at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England, last night. She looked adorable in a sparkly dress during another winning week — while she's been in London, Taylor took home five awards at Sunday's American Music Awards. She also got some sweet compliments from Taylor Lautner in his sexy shirtless Rolling Stone interview.

The Royal Variety Performance took place on Thursday night at the London Palladium. The likes of Leona Lewis and Take That performed to Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. Camilla made an unusual choice in terms of dress wearing a specially commissioned design by Dame Vivienne Westwood.
