Anthropologie has a whole new crop of glam crystal perfume bottles, or Provence Society Perfume Bottles ($18-$38), to house your signature scent or just put on display for their boudoir beauty. I'm aching to have the whole set of them, and display them amongst vintage perfume bottles in my bathroom. Wish list! I'll accept just one or two, if that's all you're willing to give me this Christmas (wink wink).

Collecting things—stamps, foreign coins, perfume bottles, matchbooks— can be a fun hobby. It can also be a great way to decorate your house, and to create little vignettes. Sometimes though, I feel like people need to draw the line with their collector's items; it can become a tad obsessive.

Perfume is so much more than scent. I love the clever packaging, the colors of the tinctures inside, even the goofy little trinkets that are sometimes included with them. But my heart beats faster when I think about the bottles. Is there anything more luxurious than the sound of them clinking softly on a silver tray? Many of the best are little jewels of design, and so beautiful you'd never dare hide them in a cabinet. I've put together a few of my favorites; they smell great, and they look even better.

Jade Goody Drops Her Own Controversial Perfume

Jade Goody's launch party for her new perfume Controversial at London's Embassy didn't go entirely smoothly last night, with the reality TV star dropping a bottle of it on the floor! It was a somewhat ironic moment, as her previous perfume Shh was dropped by high street retailers back in January 2007 following her controversial comments in Celebrity Big Brother. Jade didn't let her clumsiness get her down, though, and continued to grin and pose in her gorgeous Louboutins. She's certainly proven her longevity in the public eye, and she features in PR agent Mark Borkowski's new book (out Friday), which presents a "fame formula" to explain what makes people famous and how they then stay in the public arena. I wonder how many of the current Big Brother housemates will latch on to the winning formula?

Reese Witherspoon Talks About Her New Fragrance

What do you get when one of Hollywood's most popular and powerful A-listers releases a fragrance? In Bloom ($34), the new Avon scent from Reese Witherspoon. Over the course of two years, the self-proclaimed girly-girl was involved in practically all aspects of the perfume-making experience, from helping to select the fragrance's notes to providing input on her inaugural scent's packaging, bottle design, and name. Roundup: Modern Roses

Do you think that roses should be relegated to old ladies' perfume bottles and shabby chic pillows? If so, I'd like to change your mind.

You'll be happy to hear that an updated take on the beautiful bloom is easy to find and decorate with. In fact, the rose is making a comeback in hip, modern homes. Take this Je Taime Poster ($40), for example. With a modern font and a blockprinted rose outline, I dare you to find anything fuddy duddy about it.

To find roses that are more modern than the norm, look for designs that utilize abstracted designs and simplified color palettes. See some of my other favorite modern rose finds when you read more.

SJP Channels Carrie B. For Her New Fragrance

Can't get enough SATC? You'll like this news, then. Sarah Jessica Parker is launching a new scent, called SJP NYC, in conjunction with the release of Sex and the City 2 next May. And as you might expect given the launch date, SJP says this one is more about her SATC character then it is about her. “A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people’s impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street," she told WWD."We wanted to create a party in a bottle." (I always thought Carrie looked more harried and anxious in the opening than ready to party, but maybe that's just me.)

For those of you interested in hitting the club with this one, the scent is a fruity floral, and the packaging (and low price points-15 ml is $25) makes it seem like it's designed to skew younger. SJP NYC has top notes of Italian mandarin, white osmanthus and strawberries, a big, floral middle with gardenia, honeysuckle, mimosa and rose, and a drydown with sandalwood, vanilla, rum, and musk. What do you think? Will this one be a as lovely and coveted as her other two scents, or do the notes suggest Carrie's not nearly as talented a perfumer as SJP?

Viktor & Rolf Try to Outdo Flowerbomb With Eau Mega

Flowerbomb, Viktor & Rolf's first fragrance, has been a cult hit since it came out a few years ago. But this week, the brand quietly released its second scent, Eau Mega. Just so you all know how dedicated I am to good-smellin' stuff, I trekked all the way down to Nordstrom during lunch to sniff it, since only a few locations have the fragrance so far. Luckily, the reconnaissance on this baby is good.

V&R didn't play it safe at all, and Eau is totally different from the F-bomb, though just as playful. The atomizer is also too cute to be believed, and well worth playing with (you spray it by squeezing the big gold V&R seal on the side).
