I've already showed you ways you can make your own photo books on the web in a snap, but what about all those Facebook photos of you that all of your friends have uploaded? Now you can make photo books out of your Facebook photos and content with the help of Pixable. Working just like Inkubook or iPhoto, you can upload your regular pics to make great looking coffee-table books, or you can choose to import your own Facebook photos, or select specific tags to import as well.

And if you don't have a lot of time to spend choosing your layouts and photo placements, don't worry - Pixable uploads and organizes your book in five minutes, and you'll have it in your hot little hands in about three days.

First of all, join the Website of the Day group.
Click "New Post" under the website of the day tab at the top of the page.
Give your story a "Title."
Fill in the "Body" with a link to your favorite website and the reasons why you love it.
Type "Technology and Gadgets" in the Categories box
Add keyword(s) in the tag field with relevant tags (for example mine for this story was "Website of the Day").
Choose whether you want the post to be private or public.
Click "Create Post" to submit content.

Even though all those photo-hosting sites make it really easy for me to upload and share my photos with friends and family, it really doesn't help me stave off complaints from my grandparents. Since they still subscribe to the old-school photo album ways of the past (which is totally appropriate - they are in their 80s!), I can't help but feel guilty that they can't hop online and check out the pics from my latest cross-country adventure.

So instead of printing out photo after photo (and wasting money on photo paper, ink, or printing fees), why not take the best of your photos and make them into a glossy, hardbound, and professional-looking photo book? Mac users can always use iPhoto's quick and easy printing service, but for the rest of us there's Inkubook.

Book Bag: Awkward Family Photos Blog Gets a Deal

One of my favorite web finds of the past few months, Awkward Family Photos, is moving from photo blog to photo album. In a fairly predictable development, the bloggers behind this brilliantly funny site just scored a book deal with Three Rivers press. So now you can have not only your awkward family photos adorning your coffee table, but other people's, too!

Bloggers Mike Bender and Doug Chernack have been hearing from agents every since the blog debuted in May; the book is slated for release in May 2010. If you need something to read between now and then, I've got you covered.

I'm glad to see quality blogs getting book deals, but I'm also skeptical. A concept like Awkward Family Photos is so perfect for the web - why confine it to the more static book format? Then again, it worked for Post Secret and Stuff White People Like. What do you think?

Rihanna's Schedule Is Booked, Including New Year's

Rihanna was out and about for another hectic day of promoting Rated R in NYC yesterday. First up was a stop by the radio station Hot 97 in a white blazer, before she put on her black coat for lunch at her usual spot, Da Silvano. The next item on her agenda was an appearance on The Late Show in yet another dark ensemble. She was on hand to perform "Russian Roulette" - check out the video after the jump.

Rihanna wound up her day in a sparkly gold dress for her record release party at the Supper Club. She was joined by both Jay-Z and recent birthday boy Diddy, who shared with Yum his secrets to a successful bash. Ashley Greene also paid a visit after her own Maxim party, and she was spotted leaving around the same time as Rihanna headed home in a red outfit. The hectic scheduling isn't going to slow down for Rihanna anytime soon, as she's just signed a deal to perform in Abu Dhabi on New Year's for half a million dollars.

There are so many talented, design-forward readers on this site that I hope you will share your tablescapes and decorating ideas with the rest of us in the Lovely Little Vignettes group, which is the place to share photos of the small vignettes you create in your home or those you see online or at a friend's home. (If you're not sure what I mean by vignettes, this slideshow should make it clear.)
So, show me what you got! Be it some art books on your coffee table or your arrangement of green cachepots on your windowsill, I want to see all of your beautiful photographs of the little details throughout your home.

This week on The City, we finally get a glimpse of Whitney's designs! During the shoot for her look book, Roxy gets a little bossy - as usual - and Whitney defends her - as usual. I particularly enjoyed the drama between Erin and Olivia this week; Erin is finally standing up to Olivia! I can't wait to see what happens on next week's season finale, but until then, test how closely you paid attention to geeky details in this week's episode with The City tech quiz!

Heidi and Spencer Show Off How to Be Famous!

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt haven't staged a ridiculous photo shoot in a few weeks, but yesterday they hit the beach in LA with all three of their puppies. They also had another new project along for the ride - their new book How To Be Famous. Even with their hands full, Heidi and Spencer kept all eyes on all important cameras.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt did their best to smile for the cameras yesterday as they arrived at LAX. They were on their way to NYC to begin promoting their new book, "How to Be Famous," but first up was the requisite kissing and posing for their friends the paparazzi. Unfortunately, their scheduled interview this morning on The Today Show ended up being cancelled - and that set off the latest round of Heidi and Spencer's feud with Al Roker. Spencer took to Twitter today to launch a variety of assaults against the newsman, while Heidi stayed a little more on-message to discuss their book. There's always something up when it comes to Heidi and Spencer, so take a look through their trip to the Big Apple.

Rewind: This Week's Buzz

In case you haven't heard, a little movie called New Moon came out this week. I showed you where you can find them next, and I gave you my review of the movie, quizzed you on the book, as well as an exclusive interview with Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene.
Robert Pattinson continues to make non-Twilight waves at the movies: the trailer for his drama Remember Me debuted, and news that Uma Thurman has been cast as his love interest in Bel Ami surfaced.
This week was a trailer treasure trove: there was Nicholas Sparks adaptation and Miley Cyrus vehicle The Last Song, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bridge's surefire Oscar bait Crazy Heart, and Edward Norton taking on a dual role in Leaves of Grass.
At least you'll save on tissues: Oprah announced that her talk show will go off the air in 2011.
I interviewed some of the funniest men in prime time: Eric Stonestreet gave me the scoop on Modern Family, while Joel McHale and Ken Jeong bantered about Community.
The reality TV winners were crowned! Irina ruled Project Runway, and Nicole is America's Next Top Model.
The holidays are here! I gave you a sneak peek of holiday episodes as well as more gift guide suggestions.

The Blind Side: An Unexpected Delight

It's not that the trailer for The Blind Side isn't compelling; the problem is that it combines Sandra Bullock's twangiest, most-over-the top lines with a heartrending song, which makes it seem schlocky. That's exactly what I expected from the movie, but I have to admit that I was wrong - to my surprise, I found it to be a sentimental gem that's actually quite restrained.

The Blind Side is the true story (based on Michael Lewis's book) of NFL player Michael Oher, who grew up in Memphis's projects with his drug-addicted mother and landed in and out of foster homes. He ended up in a fancy private school and in the home of a wealthy family, the Touhys, led by tough-talking Leigh Anne (Bullock). The weaving of Michael's newfound life in the movie is effective, with sweet bits of humor and just enough emotion.

The movie is full of many surprises: first, it looks like it's going to be mainly about football, but it's not all sports. There is proper attention given to Michael's life before he's taken in and the development of the relationships between the Touhy family members and Michael.

Another nice thing is how smoothly Bullock slides into her role. It's not just her wardrobe and hair that transforms her into the high-maintenance Southern matriarch; her manner as the tough mom who's not completely comfortable showing emotion is very natural - not what I'd expect from the laid-back actress.

Quinton Aaron is also impressive as a sad-eyed orphan turned well-adjusted student and son over the course of the movie. It's not an incredibly complex performance, but his teddy bear presence is irresistible. The supporting players are equally as enjoyable: Tim McGraw, whom I didn't expect much from, is charming, while the Touhy children win you over with their affection for their new brother. The late addition of Kathy Bates (whose role is basically an extended cameo) is hardly needed to bolster the movie, but she adds a nice touch as well.

At two hours and six minutes, the movie is a little too long; director John Lee Hancock seemed intent on fitting in nearly every detail of Michael's journey. Then again, at the end you're rewarded with the payoff: footage and photos of the real-life Touhys and Michael. It's an emotionally satisfying ending to a movie that makes no apologies for being so uplifting.
