This past weekend, Food Network's famous hosts, New York's foremost chefs, and other celebrated figures came together to attend the New York City Wine and Food Festival.
The four-day event was chock-full of demos, discussions, and, of course, parties. Food Network favorite Giada De Laurentiis and actress Alicia Silverstone signed copies of their books.

Show me a new mama and I'll show you a woman with a brag book filled with precious photos of her newborn. There's no denying that parents love to show off their kids, be it via images on their phones, albums in their Facebook accounts or photo albums bursting out of their bags.
While snapshots on the ol' digital camera may work for some moms, others turn to the professionals for a portrait that can become the centerpiece of their rooms.

Strike a pose, it's picture time! Good-bye cheesy portraits — a number of schools are giving students and their parents more options when it comes to taking the traditional class shots. Last week while filling out my daughter's order form, I was surprised to see how many options were available — from an up-close-and-personal angle to the old-school shot.

It's Labor Day weekend, and I have a feeling many a baby will be propped on the lawn chair with a cold one resting next to him while his parents snap away. If it's hot enough, mama might even put him in the cooler for a quick ice down. Moms and dads who don't condone children drinking or even wearing gear promoting the alcoholic substances may find posing the babe next to a bottle of booze harmless.

I came across the work of Portland, ME-based photographer Kari Herer on Etsy and was absolutely swept off my feet. She does commercial, portrait, and fine art work, but it's her floral photography that really gets me. Fresh peonies and hydrangea make wonderful subjects for anyone behind the camera, but take a look at Herer's work and you'll be convinced she's truly a stylist at heart.

As if being the "crookedest street in the world" weren't cool enough, San Francisco's Lombard Street yesterday was transformed into the world's largest Candy Land board to celebrate the classic game's 60th anniversary.
The brick road was blanketed with multicolored rubber mats to serve as the game board, while kids from the University of California San Francisco Children's Hospital acted as game pieces, escorted by adults dressed as kings and princesses. They then proceeded to play a game of Candy Land just like you remember it, only way bigger.

I watched last night's season three premiere of Mad Men; did you? However, my viewing party couldn't compete with the big bash held in New York's Times Square. Hundreds of fans in '60s attire joined Mad Men actor Brian Bhatt and Project Runway alum Laura Bennett to watch the new episode and compete in a preshow costume contest.

It was 20 40 years ago today when the Beatles sauntered across a crosswalk on Abbey Road to shoot one of the most iconic album covers of all time. Today in London, fans flocked to the famous intersection to celebrate the anniversary. A Beatles tribute band mingled with throngs of Beatlemaniacs, who posed for photos and signed the wall of Abbey Road studios.
