It's Tuesday, which means that you not only get a dose of fresh new movies on DVD, but you also get some new music releases. Today, we've got rock, indie, and country, so check out my recommendations below for what's worth a download.
Reliable rock: I'm a huge Spoon fan and have been waiting for a new album since the last, Ga Ga Ga Ga, came out.

AMC Theaters has announced its annual Oscar marathon, offering the chance to see all the nominees for Best Picture in one sitting. This year, the stakes have changed a bit — since there's 10 movies in the category, the special will actually take place on two separate Saturdays, showing five movies on each one.
Taking in five films in a day is one thing, but repeating it a week later seems a little aggressive.

Sure, Polaroid may be back but that doesn't mean that the nostalgia is over. The Snapshot Frames turn any picture into a magnetic Polaroid-style photo. The set of five 3 1/2" x 4" magnets is only $10; just slide your photo into the frame to turn it into a Polaroid.

Over the weekend, there definitely wasn't a shortage of celebrity sightings, as the stars flocked to Miami for various Super Bowl festivities. Among the revelers was Jessica Alba, pictured here wearing a much shorter bob. While most of you prefer her as a brunette, tell me this: Which length do you think suits her more?

In Hollywood, sequels are always possible: Not only has Paramount Pictures given Mission Impossible IV the green light, its star Tom Cruise has also been confirmed to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt.
Cruise, along with JJ Abrams, will produce the movie, though Abrams won't be directing, as he did for Mission Impossible III. That job is still open but screenwriters have already been hired and the idea has been pitched by Cruise himself.

Here in San Francisco, we have a grocery store we call "Singles Safeway" or "DateWay." Located in the singles-populated Marina district, this store has a reputation as one of the city's best pickup spots. A friend of mine swears the cereal aisle is happening, while the feminine products area — not so much.

Kerry Miller is the one-woman operation behind the blog Passive-Aggressive Notes; a collection of "painfully polite and hilariously hostile writings from shared spaces the world over." A site that started as a way to chronicle annoying roommate habits has since grown into a vibrant online community. In fact, I love the site so much, I've featured it twice; first back in 2007 shortly after its launch, and again last year.
