Code Pink Socks It To Bush With Shoe Protest

It was only a matter of time before Bush's opponents at home took advantage of last weekend's shoe attack to highlight their frustration with the President. Code Pink, the infamous group of women for peace, gathered outside the White House and in Berkeley, CA yesterday to hold a "Farewell Kiss Shoe-In" for President Bush.

Just like the Iraqis, who gathered in the streets carrying shoes to show their solidarity with the jailed journalists, the women of Code Pink picked up, or untied, the latest symbol of dissent. One member explained the group's motivation:

"It's outrageous that al-Zaidi could get two years in prison for insulting George Bush, when Bush is directly responsible for the deaths of 1.5 million Iraqis and 4,200 U.S. troops, and 5 million displaced Iraqis. The one who should be in jail is George Bush, and he should be charged with war crimes."

While the shoe demonstration could be seen as a little predictable, perhaps Bush only invited it when he said about his attacker, "I don't know what the guy's cause is." With banners dedicating shoes to the "widows, orphans and those killed in Iraq," Code Pink offered Bush an explanation. Check out the pics from the White House protest.

Celebaby Style: Suri Cruise Steps Out in Silver and Suede

Suri Cruise is one hot tot that sets the bar when it comes to celebaby style. Her high heel wearing ways have made her the hot topic in many mommy groups of late but it was this outfit that caught my attention. A sign of a true fashionista, Suri's ensemble looks perfectly effortless. Methinks "Stylist" might make it onto the lil sass's resume faster than any other profession.

All bundled up and protected from the NYC weather, the lil lady wore silver liquid leggings and a posh set of kid-friendly Petite Maloles "Celia" purple suede flats before stepping out in the rain. While the $160 shoes may be a bit steep for most moms who know they will end up in a sandpit, they are less apt to cause a twisted ankle than a pair of pumps. Keeping the flash below, she tops it off with a simple hot pink dress and a conservative Juicy Couture sweater that screams sweet girl. And for those who worry about her ability to hold onto youth, just take a gander at her Disney princess umbrella; it doesn't look like Jasmine and Aurora are going anywhere anytime soon.

Look of the Day: Jumping For Jodhpurs

Mkoesnadi is jumping for jodhpurs! Inspired by Balenciaga's epic Fall '07 collection, she pieced together a smashing, ethnic-inspired ensemble. Her jodhpurs aren't overly baggy and I like how the hot pink socks add a vibrant touch. A print scarf, vibrant bangles, and red bag complete her exotic 'fit.

Gear Review: Nike ACG Wildedge GTX Shoe

I'm a big fan of Nike's All Condition Gear (ACG) line. If you're into climbing, hiking, or trail running, this shoe line has something for you. When at the Nike store recently, I noticed that my Wildedge approach shoes are now on sale. This shoe, a mixture of a hiking boot and climbing shoe, is now $65, marked down from $110.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Nike's ACG line and to celebrate it, Nike rolled out some pretty cool versions of the Wildedge shoe - a modern twist on the vintage Wildwood shoe that was popular in the '90s. I was immediately drawn to the line because of all the cool colors offered. Most hiking and approach shoes are pretty boring and come in two colors - all-over brown or green. Although I did settle on the ones that have brown and green in them, I think the colors are a lot brighter and flashier than any other hiking shoe I've seen. I also love the fluorescent pink swoosh on the side.

Along with being aesthetically pleasing, the Wildedge shoes perform well, and after trekking in them for over six months, I have to say I am a happy customer. The shoes are really lightweight and waterproof, two things that are important to me when backpacking. What I'm most impressed with is the sticky sole, which provides major traction with its .44 sticky rubber, creating a surface that grips onto whatever I'm hiking up. They're also super comfortable - I've hiked in these shoes for hours with no complaints, and even did an hour on the treadmill with them when I accidentally brought the wrong shoes to the gym.

Melissa Pink Kali Bow Seamless Wedge: Love It or Hate It?

I was perusing the Love It or Hate It? group when I noticed the Melissa Pink Kali Bow Seamless Wedge ($124) that biarose found. She says she loves them. Me? Not entirely. I'm all about girlie bows and the color red, but for some reason the shape of the shoe isn't sitting well with me. I think I would love them more if they were flats. How about you? Trend Alert: Pretty Pink Shoes

Nothing says I enjoy being a girl like wearing a pair of pretty pink shoes. These three very different gals showed their feminine sides in pink-hued lovelies. While Selma and Ashley used the color for pop with black on top, the ever-experimental Katy Perry wore pink flats with her bubbly Falls halter dress. If I had to pick a favorite, though, it would be Selma's baby pink LVs. After all her dark looks promoting Hellboy II, she does look like she's enjoying being a girl.

Preen's Fabric Anemones: Love It or Hate It?

All day I dream of Preen - you know what I mean? But today, after leaving the Preen Spring show, I couldn't shake the fabric anemones the designers used. Overly used. Overall, the collection was awesome - it was more airy than their body-con collections past. Less tight, more light. The colors were spot on: gray and taupe offset by crisp white, chartreuse, and pink sherbet. Fabrics were knotted and twisted in the utmost Preen way; lace patchwork was a new spin, a black iridescent fabric was sci-fi sassy. But in an attempt to be more textural, the designers doused skirts, dresses, and shoulders in these scrunchy fabric anemones. Sometimes it was cool, sometimes it was unflattering. Admire the fresh Preen shoes for a sec, then pray tell: do you love or hate the fabric anemones?
