We're eight episodes into the new version of The Hills, and now that we've all given it a fair chance, I'm curious to know what you think. Is it just as good? Better? Worse? At any rate, this week's show centers around Kristin's love life, although it looks like her relationship with Brody has come to a halt, as he's decided to get back together with Jayde. Did I mention that Jayde and Kristin had yet another cat fight? In the meantime, Heidi concocts a sneaky plan to get pregnant, and it involves tossing out the birth control and seducing Spencer over dinner, in which she thanks God for her outfit. Seriously. Try as they might, it is not easy for a celeb to hide pregnancy after the 20 week mark. Actresses may show off their bumps to much fanfare offscreen, but on-screen it depends on the storyline. While some television writers are willing to make a character pregnant, others use creative means to hide their stars' growing midsections or joke about weight gain. Ellen Pompeo will be disguising her belly as Meredith on the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy and that inspired us to take a look at how other shows handled pregnancy.

Katie Gets Promoting While Peter Gets Shirtless

Katie Price was at the Sanctum Soho Hotel in London yesterday to promote her new show What Katie Did Next, which starts on ITV2 tomorrow: do you plan to watch? Before changing into her gladrags, Kate wore a Little Miss Chatterbox t-shirt: can you identify these celebs with messages on their t-shirts? While Kate was busy promoting, Peter Andre was enjoying some downtime learning to windsurf at Hove Lagoon, ahead of his gig later this week where he'll serenade Muhammad Ali. Yet more rumours about Kate's personal life are surfacing, with reports alleging she had a fling with a Brazilian called Andre Pinto in Ibiza. The rumour that Kate is pregnant and getting married is continuing to be refuted, however, with Kate saying: "I am 100% not pregnant, I am 100% not getting married. There are no babies on the agenda."

Nicole Richie's Maternity Now Available at A Pea in the Pod!

Go bohemian chic with babe - Nicole Richie's maternity designs just hit the racks at A Pea in the Pod! The exclusive line, "Nicole," allows expectant mamas to mimic the celeb's signature style. Pregnant women will find 14 pieces designed by Richie, including a flowy peasant top, maxi dresses, and tees with asymetric hems and braiding (ranging from $50 to $150) that showcase a mama-to-be's cuves. Richie explained:

“You really feel like you have to change your whole wardrobe. And that’s the last thing a woman wants to go through. So I really tried to make this line to get women excited about wearing clothes.”

Already mother to Harlow, Richie is expecting her second child with partner Joel Madden later this Summer. She starred in the ad campaign for the apparel, which will only be available through the end of the year. Check out all the items!

Reality Check: Losing Baby Weight

Women get pregnant and gain weight. Then they have the baby and have to lose the weight. Celeb moms just seem to do so at an alarmingly quick rate. We read tales of Naomi Watts simply using breastfeeding to get back to her pre-baby weight in a matter of weeks, and Jessica Alba bouncing back in record time. This, however, is not the reality for most women.

European healthcare officials are trying to add some common sense to the conversation about losing the baby weight. For most women it takes three months to a year to lose the weight, and it is important to do so. While breastfeeding can help burn calories and help new moms shed pounds, many new mothers cannot lose weight because they are breastfeeding. The body holds on to excess fat to ensure the mom has enough energy/calories to produce milk for the baby. Common sense tells us it is easier to lose the baby weight if you don't gain excessive amounts while pregnant - there is no real need to eat for two. Since the vast majority of new moms are without a personal trainer, a personal chef, and a nanny - common elements of a celeb's life - losing the baby weight will take some time. Instead of embarking on a crash diet to drop pounds, it is best to eat a healthy and balanced diet, while increasing your fitness level at a reasonable rate. Slow and sustained weight loss is the best approach, and a new mom who is cutting too many calories is a cranky new mom.
