Following the glamour of the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival last weekend, Princess Eugenie was just another student starting university this week. She arrived for her first day at Newcastle University wearing a grey dress and trainers, with files of paper in her arms. Eugenie has the accolade of achieving the best ever A level grades in the royal family with her two As and a B, so she'll no doubt do well in her English and History of Art degree.

Emily Blunt and Sarah Ferguson left the front rows of New York and swapped fashion for film at the premiere of The Young Victoria. The Brits were joined at the Toronto Film Festival by Sarah's daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, as well as Emily's costar Rupert Friend. Emily didn't have her new fiance by her side, as John Krasinski was living it up in Los Angeles at the Emmy Awards, and unlike the London premiere Keira Knightley didn't join Rupert, so the gorgeous costars kept each other company on the red carpet.

Emily Blunt shimmered on the red carpet at the premiere for The Young Victoria in London last night, while her costar Rupert Friend attended the premiere afterparty with his girlfriend Keira Knightley. Emily said it's hard to adjust to her rising public profile in anticipation of the movie, saying, "It's weird to see us all over buses. It is very strange for me but this feels like the most rewarding film I've ever been a part of and I'm just glad that people will get to see it now."

I have spotted so many hats at London Fashion Week that I can't help to think they're the next big thing. Of course the Queen has always been a big fan of headwear and began her own trend yesterday at the unveiling of a new statue of the Queen Mother. All the other women in attendance followed suit with jaunty angled hats, from Sarah Brown's beret to Princess Eugenie's bow adorned head piece.

The royal family gathered in London yesterday as the Queen unveiled a new statue of the Queen Mother. The royal women, including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, wore fancy hats and my girl FabUK wants to know whose headwear do you like best? The royals were also joined on the Mall by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife, Sarah.

Although the female members of the royal family showed off an array of hats on Christmas Day, all eyes were on Prince William's new facial hair: do you prefer him clean shaven or bearded? They gathered for a service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, and while Autumn Phillips and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie all chose low key headgear, Zara Phillips made a more daring choice with her magenta number: do you love or hate it? As so many of us are feeling the affects of the credit crunch, the Queen has reportedly shelved plans to buy a £7million private jet because it would be a "PR disaster".
