While most challenges on Project Runway involve svelte models, last night's episode was all about real women. And not just any real women, but ones who have had to overcome a disease. It was inspiring to hear their stories, both for the audience and the designers.

This week's Project Runway gave the designers a challenge that many, many of them failed on — it seemed like even the high-scoring looks were there because they were simply the least bad.
That said, I did love the winning look and think it was worthy of the guest judge herself — Marchesa's Georgina Chapman. On the other end of the spectrum, the lowest-scoring looks were some hot messes, especially the contestant who got sent home.

A beautifully pregnant Heidi Klum, alongside Tim Gunn, welcomed the contestants from Project Runway season seven in New York City wearing an eye-catching leopard print tunic. She kept the rest of her ensemble basic in a black blazer, leggings, and booties, accessorizing with gold hoop earrings and a circular cuff bracelet. As usual, the contestants on season seven of Project Runway are treated to some very stylin' digs when they're not slaving away at the sewing machine. This season, they return to luxury rental building Atlas New York, which has been made quite visually arresting by the show's production designer. Some TV and movie sets — like Carrie Bradshaw's apartment — aren't very easy to recreate because they're furnished with pricey, borrowed, or one-of-a-kind items.

Season seven of Project Runway is moving right along, and this week's challenge took the designers to the Met to be inspired by the couture within. There was a surprise challenge added to the team assignment — an extra look for less — but it didn't seem to trip anyone up (anyone who wasn't already tripped up, that is).
I liked a few of the top designs but agreed with the judges (including adorable British designer Matthew Williamson) on who they ended up sending home.

Meet Jay Nicolas Sario, last night's Project Runway winner. Here are some little-known facts about Jay: his favorite color is green, his favorite designer is Alexander McQueen, he is originally from The Philippines, his favorite model is Raquel Zimmermann, and his favorite fabrics are tweed, wool, denim, and leather (anything that can give structure and texture). Now that you kinda know him, you can really get to know him through our exclusive chat with him about last night's tricky challenge.

On Project Runway last night, the designers were taken out of the city and onto the farm, where they found their models, standing in mud, wearing potato sacks. The challenge? To make a fashion-forward look out of burlap sacks.

Last night's debut of the new Project Runway left me wanting more, more, more. I admit, I was a little skeptical of the talent level, but all my worries diminished after seeing everyone's designs on the runway. The first challenge was to create an outfit that best represented each individual designer.
