The latest book from Food & Wine, Quick from Scratch Chicken Cookbook ($25), might be dedicated entirely to chicken, but it is by no means boring. We all know that chicken is a wonderful lean protein, but cooking a boneless, skinless breast can become awfully dull. This cookbook is the antidote to monotonous chicken.

As a continuation of my (and America's) recent fascination with pickling, I decided to try a recipe in this month's Food and Wine magazine for quick pickled tomatoes. I love the fact that, like my double-dill cucumbers, this recipe only required a few hours before it was ready to eat. These pickled tomatoes have a smoky, slightly spicy flavor that comes from cumin, fresh ginger, and jalapeños.

After reading the French-themed March issue of Gourmet magazine, I could not stop thinking about this recipe for a quick raspberry charlotte. I finally got around to making this easy, tasty dessert last Friday night and it was deliciously rewarding!
Not-your-average dessert, this charlotte consists of ladyfingers, melted ice cream, and raspberries.

National Pickle Month may be coming to a close, but pickles are delicious in any month. With a bounty of Summer produce and the rising costs of prepared food, more and more people are taking up home canning. Because pickles happen to be one of my favorite snacks, I decided to take a stab at making them.

Every year on Fat Tuesday I like to make my version of Jambalaya, a Cajun inspired rice dish with fish and sausage. I love Jambalaya because it's the South's take on Spain's paella. There are many variations and usually I cook an elaborate, recipe with long steps.

My mom, who I love dearly, does not cook. She rarely prepared us dinner when my siblings and I were younger, but when she did it was one of her simple specialties: chicken and pasta, pancakes, sloppy Joes, or tacos. My favorite of her meals was tacos.

On a cool Fall evenings, I often crave chili. While a pot that's simmered on the stove all day is intensely flavorful and satisfying, a quick week night rendition filled with aromatic spices, black beans, and chunks of turkey, is equally gratifying.
This recipe employs cooked turkey, but, if you prefer, feel free to substitute rotisserie chicken or ground turkey.

Who says dishes that are packed with complex flavors have to take forever to make? Certainly not PartySugar, because I'm proposing that we make an intriguing and delectable dinner tonight in a little over 15 minutes! Shrimp is the perfect ingredient for quick cooking because it takes on the taste of the flavorings.
