Last night, British model Lily Cole arrived at the Juicy Couture VIP Launch Party in London donning a darker red hair colour. This interesting and quite rich cherry-chestnut shade has a hint of purple, a hint of brown and a whole lot of fierce in it! Last week we saw Lily at the London Premiere of The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, and a few days earlier in Paris with strawberry blonde hair. Funny People, a new film starring Adam Sandler, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill and Seth Rogan is about to hit theatres in the UK on 28th August. It's made quite the splash in America already with it's hysterical cast and slapstick plot. For those of you who don't already know who Leslie Mann is (think Knocked Up, The 40 Year Old Virgin and Big Daddy) she's side-splittlingly funny, charming and to boot, she has perfectly taught skin. Yesterday, she was in London at a question and answer session at BAFTA and I just loved the colour of her strawberry blonde hair. It's a soft shade of not too red and not too blonde that complements that gorgeous milky skin. Out of these three different hair colour below, which do you like the most on Leslie?

Love It or Hate It? Nicola Roberts's Comb-Over

Wearing barely there makeup with the exception of heavy brow filler, Girls Aloud band member Nicola Roberts Girls dined at Nobu in London last night with a gal pal and the band's manager Hillary Shaw. Whilst her makeup was low key and her hair colour a muted shade of strawberry blonde, it was her hairstyle that mostly caught my eye. The massive comb-over had me screaming Donald Trump, but I know that brushing hair this far over can also add volume to an otherwise standard look. What are your thoughts on this ultra-deep side part?

Last night in Los Angeles at the premiere of The Ugly Truth, Katherine Heigl wowed the red carpet with dark auburn hair. Depending on the light and the angle of the cameras, the shade varies between red and chestnut brown, but it's certainly is a drastic change from her usual platinum look. The only other time I've see Katherine head over to the dark side was for her role in 27 Dresses. Out of these three colours, which do you like the best?

Is "Ginger-ism" Growing in the United States?

If you've seen the South Park episode "Gingervitis," you know how Cartman feels about gingers, or fair-skinned, freckled redheads: they're less than human. While most people viewing the episode probably took it as, at best, a morality lesson about arbitrarily discriminating against others, and at worst a joke in poor taste (maybe both), it isn't so funny in real life.

A group of students in Calabasas, CA, instead decided to institute "Kick a Ginger Day" at their middle school, and proceeded to beat up some of their classmates. While this is an example of the worst sort of juvenile stupidity, it does point out the underlying prejudices redheads have to deal with, whether it's jokes about their "fiery tempers" or sexual harassment. Even Christina Hendricks's character Joan on Mad Men continuously gets called "Red" and has comments made about her. And in the UK, ginger discrimination is wel -known - to the point where redheads have been awarded settlements after workplace harassment tied to their hair color. What do you think about all this? Are there more pejorative connotations connected to having red hair these days, or are people just now paying more attention to a long-extant problem?

Brand-New Brand: Just for Redheads

Just for Reheads has just been brought to my attention, although it has been around for over 14 years. It was created by Paula Pennypacker, (a redhead), who felt that fair skinned women with red hair and freckles needed special attention. She invented a line of products that include: cosmetics, nail polish, hair care products, sun and skin care products - all for redheads!

Their star product is also their newest product. Mascara Ultresse, $15, in GingerHenna, is a rich more natural looking color mascara than black or navy. It is a reddish–brownish shade that looks fantastic on auburn, orangey red, or strawberry blond redheads.

It adds warmth to the eye, without making them look too dark and harsh. It also adds volume to thin lashes, it is waterproof, smudge proof and contains panethol and vitamin E to soften and keep lashes clump free.

There are also two companion products available for the mascara. A brow tint gel in GingerHenna, $15, and a tinted Brow Stick in GingerAuburn for $11. For those of you out there who don’t have red hair and are wondering if you can use it, the answer is yes. I have medium brown hair and it looks great on for a daytime look! Have fun!
