It's better in the Bahamas! As we hunker down for six more weeks of Winter, a Caribbean getaway sounds like heaven. Many island hotels are offering last-minute deals to escape from the cold, but how do you know if one is right for your family?

When it comes to car seats, moms can be pretty clueless. The inability to sit in them and test drive them makes buying them a rather haphazard event. In an ideal world, mums could borrow a seat for a day and roam the streets, which would allow all parties to evaluate the ease of use and comfort instead of solely relying on safety ratings and the advice of other mommy friends.

Calling all lil Houdinis! Moms know that newborns love the warmth and security of a tight swaddle. The practice, which can be traced back to the Greeks and Romans, re-creates the feeling of the womb, preventing babies from startling themselves mid-sleep, helping them obtain REM sleep, and possibly even helping to prevent SIDS.

Cheerio old pal! Generations of babies grew up with Tommee Tippee cups sitting on their high chairs. They could push the cups over, but they'd always pop back up to a standing position, eliminating any unwanted spills.

If you're the kind of mommy who uses her strolling time to catch up with old friends, the Texthook ($26) may be the stroller accessory of your dreams. Gone are the days of juggling a phone while crossing a street or pressing head to shoulder, leaving a lovely crick in the neck. A simple gadget, the phone holder velcros right onto a buggy's handlebar and can rotate 180 degrees for easy maneuvering.

When I first saw the Skullcandy iPod Speaker Dock ($70) at Target, I questioned how good the quality could be from something so compact. But after testing it out myself, I take back all the doubt I had previously cast upon it.
Coming with a battery-powered remote and charging cable, the Skullcandy Pipe is perfect for the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, or even the living room if you're looking for a full sound in a smaller space.

I don't know what drew me to Plants vs. Zombies in the first place, but now, battling my way through level after level of plant eating zombies is my idea of fun. What's so special about the game you ask?

I can't rave enough about the Furminator, both the original and the new deluxe line and this question comes to us from Community Member jennIRL in the Cat Palace group.
I've reached a shedding breakdown (cat hair everywhere, and my vacuum broke!) yesterday, so I finally went to Petco and bought a Furminator, based on the recommendations of pretty much everyone here. (I also bought a new vacuum, but I'm hoping not to have to use it nearly as much, since that's what — aside from being cheap — broke the old one) and everyone was right, this thing is the best.
