Would You Embrace the Return of the Bowl Cut?

There's been buzz over the past few months about the return of the bowl cut, ever since New York Fashion Week Fall 2009 when models from 3.1 Phillip Lim were featured in sleek, bobbed versions of this old-school haircut. Also around that time, both Rihanna and Mary J. Blige were seen dabbling with the style.

And most recently, I spotted a straight-not-round version on this young lady, modeling this scarf for Urban Outfitters. This isn't your kindergarten school picture kind of photo, to say the least. We're talking about a modernized, Vidal Sassoon-esque chic style. You weren't loving a recent mullet moment, but would you embrace this potential future trend?

The Votes Are In: Best Shorter Cut Goes to Rihanna

This year, it was all about getting more than just a trim at the salon. For 2008, shorter styles like the modern pixie and "lob" dominated as the cuts of the year. As far as your favorite, it was a close call between Rihanna and Heidi Klum, but the winner of the Best Shorter Cut of 2008 is Rihanna.

Late in 2007, Rihanna changed her graduated bob to a long and wavy style before settling into her now trademark asymmetrical razored cut. Oh, and the songstress proved that just because it's short, doesn't mean there aren't multitude of ways to wear a cropped 'do. Looking for more of this year's faves? Rihanna Takes the Rihanna to Milan

Rihanna brought a splash of sunshine to Milan on Monday, walking around the city in a cute yellow dress. She recently trimmed her famous bob, proving that she's not planning on growing out her super short hairstyle. In fact, Rihanna's not the only one who is loving her 'do - she told In Style, “The first time I heard people were asking for the Rihanna, it was really flattering and maybe a little strange. It caught be by surprise, but now I feel it’s a very cool thing. I don’t feel the pressure to change it up again at all. I like it, as they like it.” Rih looks pretty fierce with that hair, but knowing how much she loves to change her look, we're interested to see if she lives up to her word.

The BET Babes Are Brightening Up the Red Carpet

No two outfits were alike last night on the red carpet of the BET Awards. There were a variety of colors and lengths that showed off some serious stems and beautiful curves. The men were more laid back in sneakers and polos but there were a few cuties like Chris Brown who stood out from the crowd. Jennifer Hudson showed off her new bob while Alicia went from curly to straight and shocking in pink. Always a favorite and unpredictable, Rihanna showed up in a stunning yellow dress. Check out Fab for fun love it or hate it polls and of course Bella has a bunch too. Lil' Kim is usually the outrageous one but she was tame this year and left Lil Mama to look inappropriate.

Rihanna Resisted Josh's Allure

Rising star of 2007, Rihanna struck a pose in her fringed flapper style dress for a photoshoot with Allure magazine. She's still got her bob on the magazine cover, but she was recently spotted with longer locks and Bella wants to know whether you love it or hate it. Besides talking beauty, Rihanna gets down to the juicy details (or lack thereof) of that rumored love affair between her and Josh Hartnett that we heard about a few months ago. She said,

"This is what really happened. He and my management, they have each other's contact information. I went to (the New York club) Pink Elephant, and he came by. All of a sudden, the next day, I'm seeing that we were kissing and hugging up each other. You can't even go out with a friend who's a celebrity and have a good time without people making (bleep) up. Well, at least he's good-looking, right?"

Hmm, sounds like Rihanna is still getting used to her life in the spotlight and media. We can't help but wonder if this means that those rumors about her and Shia were all just hearsay too.

Nickelodeon UK Kids' Choice Awards Nominations Announced!

The Nickelodeon UK Kids' Choice Awards nominations have been announced ahead of September's ceremony – which will be the second British KCAs – and children and teens across the nation are voting for their favourites online. We saw the US picks earlier this year, but the UK ceremony has a fun peppering of Brits we all know and love among the nominations. Doctor Who is nominated for four awards, including one for David Tennant, and Catherine Tate and Freema Agyeman are battling American teens Miley Cyrus and Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly) in the Favourite Female TV Star category.

Dermot O'Leary, Holly Willoughby, David Beckham, Sugababes, Lewis Hamilton, Ting Tings, Alphabeat and Daniel Craig are also up for awards, but for the full list of nominations just read more
