The Ladies Are Short, Long and Shiny on the AMA Red Carpet!

The 2009 American Music Awards descended on the Nokia Theatre in LA last night, which meant a star studded red carpet before the big show. It was a pleasant mixture of long and short dresses on all the ladies, though some even found a way to do both simultaneously like Rihanna in her cutout gown. Carrie Underwood has the early lead in Fab's best dressed poll, but Rih is close behind. Alicia Keys stood out in blue while Fergie's high slit meant she showed off some leg as she posed. Nicole Kidman spent most of her red carpet time on the arm of her husband Keith Urban - speaking of which, check out all the guys here.

Shakira and Selena Gomez cozied up for the cameras in their standout short dresses while Demi Lovato sported some bling around her neck. Rihanna was winging it at the American Music Awards - or at least her eyeliner was. Most of you were loving this red eyeliner look when Rihanna sported it earlier this week, but this time she's gone for a cool, almost airbrush effect. She keeps the rest of her makeup simple, and her hair is funky but not busy. One thing's for sure: Rihanna always keeps us guessing. Rihanna Goes Daring For the AMA Red Carpet!

Rihanna was one of the last to arrive at today's American Music Awards in LA. It's the first award show red carpet she's done in eight months, and it looks like her unique sense of style and love of dramatic dresses hasn't gone anywhere. She's also among the exciting performers scheduled during the show ahead of her album release tomorrow. A wide range of personalities and styles stepped onto the American Music Awards red carpet tonight. And while there was some color, the best looks were neutral, black, and all-a-glitter. From Rihanna's laser cut Marchesa to Kristen Bell's cool Christian Cota skirt and top, silhouettes were experimental. Glitzy accessories topped off most of the contender's looks. Rihanna Performs and Parties With Jay-Z and Beyonce

Rihanna brought a starry crowd to the Brixton Academy last night for the launch party for the Nokia X6 where she showcased new material from Rated R. Jay-Z made a surprise appearance to sing with Rihanna on stage, and they were joined by Beyonce and her new pals JLS for the after party at Mahiki. As well as our giveaway winners lots of famous faces were in the audience for the gig, including Emma Bunton, Neve Campbell, Daisy Lowe, Kimberly Stewart and Keisha Buchanan to name but a few. Looks like a fun night!

Beyonce Knowles is in London this week as she hangs out with her beau Jay-Z and attends Rihanna's album launch. Love It or Hate It? Rihanna's Fuchsia Eyeliner

Normally it's Rihanna's hair style and hair color that changes with great frequency, but last night in London, at the launch of her new album, Rated R, it was all about the eyes. Wearing a bright, cool-toned fuchsia eyeliner on her bottom lash lines, she topped off the look with a contrasting warm gold shadow on the lids and feathery falsies on the top lashes. For a similar funked-up look, try Make Up for Ever's Aqua Eyes in Fuchsia Pink ($17). Hint: you could always line just the top for a more subtle effect. What do you think of Rihanna's hot pink style?
