Love It or Hate It? Bresson Rocker

I absolutely love love love this Anthropologie Bresson Rocker ($1,798). I think it looks both modern and classic, and its leather looks downright supple. I always have fun sitting in a rocking chair, too. But I'm sure some of you don't have the same taste for it. Are you with me or not?

Weird Furniture: Chainsaw Rocker

Artist Christopher Chiappa's Chainsaw Rocker is a to-scale reproduction of a junkyard-find Honda Accord car seat that was chiseled to form by a chainsaw sculptor. Currently on view at Moss in Los Angeles, it's lowbrow artwork for the design elite. While its brass plated legs make it a delightfully functioning rocker, it's the chair's texture that really gets me. The wood was so expertly carved, with such realistic curves, that its toughness is almost disguised. It's funny: you wouldn't normally associate the harsh cuts of a chainsaw with the upholstery of a car seat.

Simple or Swank: Rockers

Preparing for baby number two has got me nesting and reconfiguring nurseries and bedrooms. Not wanting to spend a huge amount on another glider, I started searching for a comfortable yet modern rocker for my toddler's bedroom. If I had the extra money, I might splurge on the sassy brown swank chair, as the padded arms look quite comfy. But my thrifty brain steers me otherwise.

Simple: At $149, Ikea's Lillberg rocker would suit a traditional, modern or artsy type child's room. Add some punch to the white cushions with sprightly decorative pillows.
Swank: If money is no object, the $900 Sleepytime Rocker is sure to send your tot into sweet dreams. The microsuede fabric makes it easy to clean and cozy to lounge on. If brown doesn't suit your fancy, you can have it custom made with the upholstery of your choosing.

Price aside, which one do you prefer?

Toy Box: PGA Tour Golf Cart Rocker

December 14 marks the day that the first miniature golf course opened. And because we know that kids (and adults) like to play a round of putt–putt, we scavenged around and found this ultra–cool PGA Golf Tournament Rocker $95.

The green canopied "golf cart" has grass strewn along the rocking rails, a steering wheel to avoid those pesky sand traps, and a bucket in back for those clubs that Junior needs to stow away while he's rockin'.

This toy is sure to be an ace in the hole if your lil ones are into golf. I would bet that Tiger Woods has got one of these bad boys for Sam. If he doesn't, he certainly needs one!

Cool Idea: Oooms Rocker Attachment

This Rocker is a universal attachment to turn almost any four legged chair into a real rocking chair. According to the product description, "depending on the chair of your choice, you can get any kind of rocking chair; from a superlazy to a more active rocker." You won't find me with a granny chair, I'll take the "more active rocker" so I can rock out like the best of 'em. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as if the product is for sale yet. This would be a fun attachment for human legs, though; skateboarding is so last season.

Decorating With the Eames RAR Rocker

Legend has it that the Eames RAR (rocking armchair rod) Rocker was designed by Charles and Ray Eames as a gift to employees who'd just given birth. Since I've seen the rocker pop up in photos of nurseries all over the Internet, I wouldn't be surprised. Anyone who's sat in an Eames Rocker knows that it's beyond comfortable - something you might not expect from a fiberglass chair. The RAR rocking chair is well over 50 years old, but it still looks as fresh as it did when it was designed for the MoMA. See some gorgeous examples of how home enthusiasts have integrated this rocker into their décor.

Exclusive: Dolly Rockers Tell Us About Their Wonky Pop!

Dolly Rockers are bursting on the UK music scene with their first commercially-released single "Gold Digger", so we caught up with the trio to find out a bit more about the latest British girlband. Since appearing on The X Factor in 2006, Brooke, Lucie and Sophie have received big love from Scott Mills on Radio One thanks to their upbeat track and fun video for "Je Suis Une Dolly". They've shared their fashion advice and beauty tips with my girls FabUK and BellaUK, and have told me all about their musical inspirations, and their plans for the future.

How would you describe your music?
We’ve always described our music as wonky cocky pop, they’re pop melodies with cheeky lyrics.
Who are your musical influences, idols and inspirations?
When we first started recording two years ago we were listening to a lot of Kate Nash, Jamie T, and Arctic Monkeys, and we think that is where singing in our accents came from. The Ting Tings and Lily Allen also inspired us a lot.
Who are your favourite current UK pop bands?
There aren’t that many pop bands at the moment, we love people like La Roux, and the Sugababes' new song is really good.
Describe each other in three words
Lucie - Boymad, organised, fashionista
Brooke - Loud, perfectionist, shopaholic
Sophie - Cheeky, small, sarcastic

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Probably either going into the breakfast show with Scot Mills or filming our video.
Do you still watch The X Factor?
I did a bit last year I loved JLS so I’m glad to see they’re doing well.
What does the rest of 2009 have in store for you?
The second single is out in October and we'll just be working towards the album. We’ve always said our aim is to bring back TOTP and host it!
In an ideal world, where do you want to be in a year’s time?
Welll... We would love to go international, that’s one of the reasons why we’ve always put such a British stamp on everything we do and make us different to all the American girl groups.

Desire/Acquire: Molded Plastic Rocker

The Eames Molded Plastic Rocker ($479) is a design classic. Originally produced in 1948, it's known as the RAR (rocking armchair rod) and was out of production for 30 years until Design Within Reach, with the Eames Office's blessing, started reproducing the design. The molded shell's deep seat is perfect for rocking a baby or relaxing on a front porch, and it's built from environmentally friendly molded polypropylene.

However, if you're comfortable rocking out on an unofficial reproduction, there's a much cheaper option available to you. To see what it is, read more.

Overstock.com sells the Vinnie Cradle Chair ($157) at a significantly smaller price than the official Eames rocker. However, it's kid-sized, so be prepared for its diminutive proportions. I'm guessing that the small size is the loophole around which this chair can be made. While I'm all for good design within everyone's reach, I'm not so comfortable with such a blatant ripoff of the Eames's classic, graceful design. What about you? Would you buy this knockoff?

Bella Interview: The Dolly Rockers Talk Beauty

The Dolly Rockers, a British all girl musical trio (made famous from The X Factor in 2006), are making their way into the mainstream scene - looking beautiful might I add! Their new single "Gold Digger" will drop on 30th August and I've got the exclusive on the products and inspirations that keep Brooke, Lucie and Sophie looking so saucy!

Girls Aloud has partnered with Eyelure to create their own sets of false eyelashes for each member of the band. Would you ever consider a project like this?
We'd love to bring out a range of beauty products, or work with someone like Barry M who always has such fun makeup.
Which of your video makeup looks is your favourite?
I think when we first started doing photo shoots and videos we went a bit OTT with the hair and makeup. It has toned down a bit now and looks a lot better. We were starting to look like trannies!
Where do you draw your inspiration from when creating new beauty looks for photo shoots, videos or concerts?
We always look through fashion magazines like Dazed & Confused for inspiration, as there are always interesting fashion stories. We obviously have to tone it down a bit as everything looks a bit better on a six foot fashion model!

What are your secrets to beautiful skin and hair?
Always take your makeup off - although, when you stagger in at 4am it’s not always what you think of! Oh, and blue eye drops. They're great for tired or bloodshot eyes, plus they're moisturising!
You girls are into big hair. What styling products/tools can’t you live without?
We all swear by these pink curlers that cost £11 from Superdrug - they’re amazing!
