Which Rubik's Cube-Inspired Table Do You Prefer?

The Jellio Rubik's Cube Table ($600, left) looks just like the real thing: a tribute to the '80s. Despite its authentic looks, it actually doesn't twist, which doesn't fly well in my book. If I'm going to own a table that parades as a functioning Rubik's cube, I'd at least prefer one with a more palatable palette, like the Generate Ruby Cube ($399, right).Like the real thing better? Lookee! It's the least essential product ever created: Cube Lube from Bougé Industries, Inc. Because solving that Rubik's Cube faster, pussycat, kill, kill! is priority numero uno. (I love the little cartoon "spark marks" indicating the lightning speed with which this thing is being solved. Fierce!)

We use the term geek around here fast and loose, as it's kind of become a catch-all phrase for passionate techies, gamers, and gadget lovers everywhere. It's not necessarily a synonym for nerd anymore - necessarily. Unless you were a geek who could put a Rubik's cube together! Oh I kid, I kid.

But seriously, even though I couldn't put one together, I still had one, like every other '80s kid. Sentimentality alone leads to my soft spot over this Rubik's Cube Clock, but frustration leads me to disdain over it. What do you think?

Anssi Vanhala Solves Rubik's Cube With His Feet

I can barely solve a rubik's cube with my hands, so the thought of trying to line-up colors with my feet is totally out of the question! Definitely not the case for Anssi Vanhala of Finland who won the feet-only challenge at the Rubik's Cube World Championship in Hungary this past weekend. Want proof? Check out the video below which I found on Spluch of Vanhala breaking the Unofficial World Record of solving the 3x3 cube in only 49.33 seconds. I wonder what his secret is...strong feet or maybe extra long toes? Vanhala's skills are just as impressive and mind-blowing as the extraordinary Tetris gamer!

The first time we witnessed a Rubik's Cube Cake it featured three square facelets tilted on their axes, providing a complicated "Rubik's Cube in mid-solution mode" feeling. Today I offer you a less intricate, but larger and more colorful Rubik's Cube cake created as a birthday treat for a self described geek by his mother. I adore the textured icing and rich color choice and love the fact that instead of doing a freestyle icing job she used a real cube as a model. It's geekalicous!

Why, a bodybuilder wearing an overstretched thong while shaking her non-flabby tush for a couple of drummers and simultaneously solving a rubik's cube with her own two hands-- that's what! There is no rhyme or reason to this, until she flashes a message at the very end. Then it all makes perfect sense.

Toddler Solves Rubik's Cube In 114 Seconds

Thought you had real Rubik's Cube talent? Check out the video below of a three-year-old solving the cube in less than two minutes! The video, which was featured on Spluch, is absolutely remarkable.. and I can't help but wonder if a Rubik's Cube was her first toy or if she has some sort of inherited Rubik's Cube gene. Maybe she should go head to head with speedcuber Tyson Mao, who taught Will Smith how to cube for the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness."

Whatever her secret is, be it hard work, Rubik's Cube genetics or talent, I think her parents should make her a giant Rubik's Cube cake for her next birthday!
