Which is Your Favourite Halloween Music Video?

It's Halloween on Saturday and I've been thinking about my favourite spookily themed music videos! Michael Jackson's "Thriller" will always be a classic, but there's been some other fun ones like Backstreet Boys "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)", Rihanna's "Disturbia" and perhaps the lesser known Metric's "Monster Hospital". Meat Loaf, Ryan Gosling's band Dead Man's Bones and a couple of songs from The Rocky Horror Picture Show just missed my list, but I'd love to know which of these is your favourite - so let me know!

Ryan Gosling and his band Dead Man's Bones are back with a video for their song, "Name in Stone." Their first single, "In the Room Where You Sleep," went over pretty well and this continues in their old-timey style by filming in black and white. Ryan's taking his music seriously, and this song is a little slow but catchy. So, tell us - love it or leave it?

Ryan Gosling has been hard at work in LA recently, only it's not on the set of any movie. Instead, Ryan and a friend started a band called Dead Man's Bones and here is their first music video. It's a far cry from the bubble gum pop that most actors-turned-musicians release, but it might not appeal to all The Notebook fans out there. Earlier this week, I gave the Dead Man's Bones debut album a listen. You may not recognize the band name, but you probably recognize the frontman: it's actor Ryan Gosling. I'm a big Gosling fan, but I wasn't expecting his music to have any substance, or for me to actually like it. Nothing against him, it's just that actors crossing over into music usually fall into a fitting cliche - epic failure.

Every once in a while, though, someone talented proves they're truly multi-talented and makes some enjoyable music. Last year, I fell for She & Him, Zooey Deschanel's project with M. Ward, and I loved Phantom Planet: The Jason Schwartzman years.

It's Tuesday, which means that not only is your Netflix queue getting a shot in the arm, so is your iPod: I've checked out today's new music releases and have some advice for you on what you should download today.

Hipster Halloween Party: I'm pretty shocked by how much I'm enjoying the self-titled debut album from Dead Man's Bones, AKA the band that Ryan Gosling is in. The "goth-folk" concept sounds too campy to work; Gosling and his bandmate Zach Shields have compiled an entire album of creepy-themed tracks, finding inspiration in zombies and werewolves. It sounds ridiculous, but their stroke of genius is adding the Silverlake Conservatory of Music Children's Choir. As backup singers, the kids' voices are sweet and catchy, especially on Flowers Grow Out of My Grave. My other favorites are the charm-filled, retro-sounding My Body's a Zombie For You and Pa Pa Power, where Gosling's '50s-toned voice plays off the backing of the young voices.

Spill it: I was eagerly awaiting Built to Spill's latest album, There Is No Enemy, and I'm not disappointed; so far I like it more than their last effort from three years ago, You in Reverse. Enemy is more in the upbeat-yet-deep vein of 1999's Keep it Like a Secret (maybe my favorite BTS album). Lose yourself in Hindsight and Aisle 13, but if you're craving a lilting, classic BTS jam, cue up Things Fall Apart.

Now she's back with her third album, Give Up the Ghost, and her emotional folk will probably get her back on the show: Dreams ramps up from a slow ballad to heavy rocker, while That Year and Before it Breaks are worthy of a Mer-Der cryfest.

He and his bandmate Zach Shields are gearing up for Dead Man's Bones' first tour, which kicks off next month in Cambridge, MA. It seems like you guys are big fans of Ryan's music, though we're all equally enthusiastic about his hot gym physique.

We've Got Our Fingers Crossed For Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling was decked out in plaid yesterday for a run to the bank in LA. Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of Ryan's sweet reunion lunch with Rachel McAdams, and her rumored recent singleness has us wishing that these two would give it another go. Aside from our wishful thinking, Ryan's focus these days seems to be less on his love life and more on his music - he's gearing up for the October release of Dead Man's Bones' debut album, which many of you guys are also anticipating.

We've heard a few songs from Ryan Gosling's band Dead Man's Bones, and they've just released a third track called "My Body's a Zombie For You." The tune is set to appear on their upcoming debut album, which will be out on Oct. 6. Dead Man's Bones has a unique sound, and they often incorporate the children's choir from the Silverlake Conservatory of Music - one of Ryan's favorite places. Ryan Gosling was back on his motorcycle yesterday afternoon for a trip to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music in LA. He's not in this year's shirtless bracket, but his muscular arms have us wanting to see what's under his black tank. Ryan has been all about his band lately, but clearly he's had a few extra hours to hit the gym.

Ryan Gosling Is a Dream No Matter the Genre

Ryan Gosling wore a muscle-hugging shirt - and kinda tight jeans - as he hopped on his motorcycle in LA over the weekend. This time he didn't have his fan club stopping him to pose for photos, but Ryan is happy to oblige when the ladies find him. Ryan frequently finds ways to show off his big heart, but I'm also always impressed by his buff physique. He doesn't take off his shirt often, but whether or not he hits the road when his album comes out, he's already one of the hottest guys in the indie music scene.
