True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Play at SeaWorld

Straight off their appearance at this year's Comic-Con, True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer headed over to the San Diego Zoo to splish-splash around with the animals. The pair cuddled with the (drama-free) resident 2-month-old Magellanic penguin before diving into the dolphin tank for a wet-nosed photo op - how well do you know the sea-dwelling creatures?

Surf's Up For These Pups in San Diego!

North may like to play in the waves, but these brave pups surf them! Dogs of all sizes competed in the Fourth Annual Lowes Coronado Bay Surfing Competition in San Diego this weekend. And even though it was raining in SoCal, hundreds of people turned out to watch the sporty pups ride their surfboards. I guess the rain doesn't matter though, since these guys look pretty waterlogged anyway!

Junior Jetset: Set Your Sights on San Diego!

Before children, couples often plan vacations around sunbathing, frozen cocktails and an exciting nightlife. A step in that same direction, families looking to take a trip full of activity and pleasure for everyone can book an adventure to San Diego. Keeping parents and their wee ones in mind, the city offers fun in the sun for everyone.

Perched along the Pacific coast, visitors can soak up rays on the beach in near perfect weather. Check out all the brilliant places it has to offer.

When everyone tires of the surf, take the fam to the San Diego Zoo. Famous for the animals alone, the surroundings and shows make it worth visiting.
Leave the sand behind and head to Sea World to watch Shamu jump through the air and the penguins waddle around the ice.

Kids and parents can enjoy a blast from the past at LegoLand. The construction play land is a dream come true for wee ones who love to build and tear things down. Adding to the fun are rides and water parks to keep things cool and entertaining.
Get out of the sun at the New Children's Museum where tots can jump on cushions, explore a sponge forest, finger paint a real live car, and build wooden structures.
When the sun has set and everything above is closed, parents can take the troops to a San Diego Padres baseball game. Taking them out to the ballgame and buying them peanuts and Cracker Jacks will keep a smile on their mugs while allowing mom and dad to sip on a cold one.
For some old school amusement, head to Belmont Park. The boardwalk type roller coasters and games will have mama singing Beaches songs throughout the evening.
Kids who relish seeing the fish behind a glass pane window will delight in the sea life offered at the Birch Aquarium. Tykes can reach out and touch a starfish in the tide pools at this venue.

A relatively small city, most every site is a short drive from the center making it that much more attractive to parents toting children through the town.

To the Rescue: Donating to Charity

During and after a disaster such as the Southern California wildfires, it's common to hear pleas for donations and want to help out. As of this time, the creatures at the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park are doing fine, but organizations like the Humane Society are still helping to rescue, shelter, and provide for the needs of displaced pets and larger animals like horses and llamas. If you're inspired to give to a cause (animal-related or not), here's some food for thought to protect your good intentions from someone else's bad ones.

Pick your passion. Chances are if you're thinking of donating, you already have an organization or a cause in mind. If you're still looking, it helps to search nationally soliciting charitable organizations (and determine their legitimacy) at the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, a merger of the National Charities Information Bureau and the Council of Better Business Bureaus' Foundation.
Do your homework. If it smells fishy, it probably is. Be careful to avoid charitable scams. Many times, especially when disaster strikes, bogus organizations pop up often with similar or "legit" sounding names. In this situation, give to familiar charities that have a history of working in disaster relief. Always protect your information – don't give card numbers over the phone to solicitors or on the spot cash donations, and keep a record of your transactions. Remember all donations are valuable even offering up your time!

"Lost" Fans: Your Libby Questions Will Be Answered Next Season

Firstly, a million thanks are in order for reader Phasekitty whose blog coverage of Comic-Con this weekend is incredibly thorough, detailed and spectacular for those of us dying for the dirt but unable to be there. She is kindly letting us post her reports on Buzz, so thank you, Phasekitty!

Now, for the juicy bits Phasekitty learned from Carleton Cuse and Damon Lindelof about the next season of "Lost"!

Phasekitty writes, "We will get more of Libby's story this year. Lindelof said that we would be very happy with it and indicated that she might have been involved with Dharma." Yes! They must have heard all of your comments on Buzz saying how much you need to find out more about Libby's story!

"Lindelof nodded emphatically when someone asked if Jack and Claire would learn they were related this season." I'd hoped for this and sort of expected it for next season, so it's good to know that's confirmed.
"Already confirmed at the TCAs, they spoke about Michael's return. Feeling bad about spilling the beans before Comic-Con, they brought out Harold Perrineau to join them on the panel as a treat for us. Although they did not disclose how or when Michael would be returning, they said he would be a series regular, and that his story is one of the most compelling."
"Kate and Jack's flash forward in the season finale is not where the series will end. In this answer, they indicated that there may be a handful of episodes, or even a season that takes place off the island. The show is not about 'getting off the island,' they said, the question is who gets off." I love that.
"Someone asked a really great question which was 'What are the questions we should be asking?' To this, Lindelof, Cuse, and Perrineau came up with a slew of questions that they would not answer, including: Who are the skeletons from season one? Are Paolo and Nikki really dead? Who's in the coffin?"
"Cuse said we shouldn't be concerned with what the monster is, but more like who made it (which he quickly took back by following up with, 'if it was even made by someone'...smooth!) and what it does." Ha! Nice cover, Cuse!

Rock 'n' Roll Marathon

Get ready for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon on June 3, 2007. This marathon is renowned for the more than 40 bands that play live music along the 26.2 mile tour of beautiful San Diego, California.

If you register online between now and April 20, it costs $90. Register between April 21 and May 25, it's $100. Or you can sign up right before the big day for $120.

Soul Mates Dev and Freida Say Hello to the Animals

Dev Patel and Freida Pinto made some new furry friends on a their visit to San Diego Zoo earlier this month. They looked delighted to meet a porcupine called Icana and an ocelot called Diego: cute! According to onlookers, the couple had a blast during their stay in San Diego, dining at Nobu and visiting SeaWorld before heading back to Los Angeles. While in LA they walked the red carpet together at the BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards to support their Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle, who spoke about the young stars' relationship, saying:

"I was a bit surprised at first, but then those things tend to pass me by! I'm delighted for them, they seem to be real soul mates... and I'm sure more than that. I'm very happy for them - it seems lovely."

What a lovely couple!
