the trailer for
The Blind Side isn't compelling; the problem is that it combines Sandra Bullock's twangiest, most-over-the top lines with a heartrending song, which makes it seem schlocky. That's exactly what I expected from the movie, but I have to admit that I was wrong — to my surprise, I found it to be a sentimental gem that's actually quite restrained.
The Blind Side is the true story (based on Michael Lewis's book) of NFL player Michael Oher, who grew up in Memphis's projects with his drug-addicted mother and landed in and out of foster homes.

The trailer may be schlocky, but if it comes on, I have to change the channel, or I immediately start to cry. I guess I'm a sucker for schlock.
1I was going to see this this morning, but when I got to the theater there was no parking and the place was packed. I guess New Moon viewers were taking over the theater. I'm a bit amazed how many kids weren't in school today to go see a movie.
2I'm glad you liked it because even though the trailer was "schlocky" I am pretty in to the premise. Plus, I love a twangy Sandra Bullock.
3I read this book and it was amazing! I am so excited to see the movie, but I'm waiting to see it with my bf... I forced him to read the book too
4Can't wait to see this! I was hoping it wouldn't be ignored amidst the New Moon mania.
5Akasha- my theather was crazy too for New Moon (I was one of them) but they were all mothers going while the kids were in school!
6I really want to see this movie but I know I will cry- movies based on a True Story always get me a little more emotional and I hate crying in a theater.
I think I will have to go see 2012 before this one.
this movie looks really touching but I'll wait until dvd, I went and saw new moon today and got extremely lucky (it wasn't packed) but when we left there were 2 lines for the later showing already filling up.
7i cannot wait to see this, like aeryn im a sucker for the trailer and love the premise
8i wanted to go see this yesterday but the place was packed with people for new moon. I was thinking about going today but my friend said not to bother unless I want to wait an hour for parking
9I went to go see this movie IT WAS GREAT! I want with my best freind and her mom. the movie was sooo sad but you can handle it! Because at the end is the beat part. I think every one should go see this movie...it might help you realize how forchinte you are.
10My boyfriend and I saw this on Friday and we both really liked it. I think that there is enough of a sports theme where guys will actually enjoy watching it and even though it was a sad story and I will pretty much cry every time I watch tv or a movie where others cry I didn't cry at all. I think that was because there wasn't too much crying in the movie. I think that Sandra Bullock's character tried to be tough on him instead of pitying him.
Overall a really good movie that I think a lot of people will enjoy!
