Celebrities have become a designing powerhouse in their own right, and in 2007, more Fab faces joined the fray. Mary-Kate and Ashley added cool contemporary line Elizabeth and James; SJP launched the budget-friendly Bitten at Steve & Barry's; Gwen's little L.A.M.B. made a runway comeback; Lauren Conrad reached her dream of becoming a designer; and both Sienna Miller and Penelope Cruz teamed with their sisters to cull up some seriously sizzlin' clothes. Admittedly: some of them were hits and some were misses. You all know how much I look to Celebrity Style for inspiration, so here's to hoping 2008 brings just as many fun collaborations!

SJP's Carrie Catches Up With Cynthia and Chris On SATC2 Set

Production on Sex and the City 2 has continued over the past few days with Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Chris Noth filming on the New York City streets. Sarah Jessica and Cynthia blocked the scene in their own clothes before they headed into wardrobe and makeup, emerging as Carrie and Miranda! SJP showed off a daytime and evening look as Carrie, under the watchful eye of stylist Patricia Field, in a knotted checked shirt for day, and then a familiar newsprint covered dress for a night out with Mr Big - how exciting!

Sarah Jessica Parker Shines Brighter Off Screen

She's a fashion icon for an entire generation of women, and when she's not making headlines for her clothing choices - both on and off the television and movie screens - Sarah Jessica Parker prides herself on her urban family life.

While fans may love her best for playing Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw on both the small and large screens, Parker's role as mom to James Wilkie, 6, is the one that she cherishes. Often seen taking her son to school or palling around New York City with him, she said that she loves "to do everything with him as long as he will have me around . . . brushing his teeth with him is enjoyable right now." So it is no wonder that Parker and husband Matthew Broderick recently announced that they are expecting two new additions to the family - twin daughters - via a surrogate.

Though James Wilkie may sport hand-me-downs from his uncle, we hope the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador's daughters will have the opportunity to rifle through their mama's closet when they are older.

Gorgeous Guys Join Front Row Beauties at NY Fashion Week

Bryant Park was the place to be over the weekend, with dozens of celebrities descending on the shows of New York Fashion Week. Usual suspects Mischa Barton, Milla Jovovich, Sarah Jessica Parker and Roisin Murphy took their places in the front row, while Fashion Week devotee Kanye West had some male company for a change at the Calvin Klein Menswear show, sitting alongside the gorgeous Jared Leto and Chace Crawford. Faces from our side of the pond enjoyed the Lacoste show: we'll no doubt see Will Cameron, Lily Collins and Dasiy Lowe back in the UK for London Fashion Week on Friday. My girl Fab UK has the lowdown on the catwalk clothes and Bella UK wants to know which makeup look is most wearable.

Sarah Jessica and Matthew Make Way For Babies

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick left their NYC townhouse separately this afternoon. The happy couple just announced yesterday that they're expecting twin girls via a surrogate this Summer, and they're already preparing for their new additions - a big shipment of infant clothes was spotted being carried into their home today. SJP was always vocal about dressing their son James in hand-me-downs, and when it's time, her twin girls will inherit a spectacular collection from mom.

Fab Flash: Would You Miss Steve and Barry's?

UPDATE: Steve & Barry's have officially went under and has filed a voluntary Chapter 11 petition in Manhattan bankruptcy court.

Tear. Mega retail chain Steve and Barry's is headed toward major financial downturn. The 28-year-old clothing chain who recently gained popularity for carrying celebrity sportswear lines - most notably, Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker - at rock-bottom prices has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Steve and Barry's is set to shut down a large number of its 270 stores and will most likely be forced to liquidate all assets. So how does SJP feel about this failed venture? “We are surprised and disappointed that this situation has developed. We are surprised because our understanding, based on the accounting statements we see, was that sales have been very, very strong” said Sarah Jessica Parker's lawyer, Ira Schreck.

Let's not lose hope too soon. The company is looking for an acquisition; Sears and Kmart have showed interest, with the possibility of continuing a partnership with its licensed celebrity lines. Would you miss Steve and Barry's?

Last night while the ladies were battling it out in Chanel at the opening of Chanel's mobile art pavilion in New York's Central Park, it was all about Karl Lagerfeld, Sarah Jessica Parker, and art! Quite the dynamic trio. While Sarah confessed to loving Chanel bags, Karl delivered some fun nuggets. Amidst falling branches, wind blasts, and frozen toes, here's what Karl had to say . . .

What do you think is a great piece for women to embrace in their wardrobes for the Winter?

"This is a piece of beautiful architecture - for clothes - I don't know how the Winter will be and how the economy will be and what they can afford, you know?"

How about something from your collections?

"I do several collections – I don't remember the collections!"

Tell me how this structure makes art and architecture accessible.

"What is art? What is architecture? What is fashion? All those things. Zaha Hadid (the architect) puts it in the same melting point. Fashion is fashion and art is art. We don’t need art but we cannot live without it. Fashion you need because if not you are freezing in clothes you need because we cannot run around naked."

SJP stayed on trend with her sheer top, which could help get her some more votes for best celebrity style in the new year. The actress's own clothing line took a hit with the closing of Steve & Barry's in 2008, but hopefully she can find a new home for Bitten to keep her passion for design alive.

Sarah Jessica Parker sported cuffed jeans and a Summer scarf on Monday while running errands before spending time with James Wilkie and Matthew Broderick. She had James's backpack to hold along with her Bitten tote bag as the family gears up for back to school time. The actress's Obama fundraiser with Anna Wintour is today, but hopefully we'll get a glimpse of her at even more Fashion Week-related events. Now that her clothing line has been saved, Sarah Jessica can keep on designing - not that this fashion-forward gal needs a job to stay stylish.

Sporting Couture While Your Kid Wears Hand-Me-Downs?

Rags to riches to rags? Sex and the City's haute mama Sarah Jessica Parker grew up poor. And though the actress and her husband Matthew Broderick are well off, they don't want their son James Wilkie to take his lifestyle for granted.

When a Parade reporter recently commented that the 5-year-old wouldn't have to wear hand-me-downs, Parker said her son's wardrobe was quite the contrary. She said:

“Oh, no. He only wears hand-me-downs because I’ve got all these older nephews,” Parker insists. “That’s the God’s honest truth. Plus, my mother saved all my brothers’ clothes. I am not kidding. I don’t think I’ve ever bought him any clothes. Maybe a new winter coat. I do buy him shoes, because everybody’s feet are different.”
