I usually listen to my iPod to get pumped up for a run, but sometimes I don't feel like huffing and puffing and getting all sweaty. Plus it takes a lot of energy to fully exert my body like that, so when my energy is low, I like to take my time and go for a nice long walk along the water. Not only is it great exercise, but it gives me a chance to be alone with my thoughts and really appreciate the gorgeous surroundings.

Since I love to walk along the beach or lakeside, this playlist is a tribute to everything water - rivers, streams and even rain. After all, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for crisp, refreshing, glorious water.

Creature Features: Patagonian Sea Lions

Spotlight: Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute

Well, along with all the other fun animals we saw during our time in Orlando (thank you, Aquatica!), we spent one night at SeaWorld where we caught a glimpse of some killer whales! LilSugar and I watched a preview of Shamu Rocks (officially kicking off Memorial Day 2008), which combined fun music with improvisational movements of two orca whales. I was happy to hear that the tanks were eco-tastically filled with recycled rainwater and learn about how much attention the organization dedicates to the research, rescue, and rehabilitation of marine wildlife. Collaborative research between the institute's scientists and the park's husbandry, training, and veterinary staff expands scientific knowledge and assists in the conservation of animals (and their habitats) in the wild. By combining the resources of a marine zoological park with a nonprofit research institute, Hubbs' scientists and SeaWorld animal-care specialists, trainers, and veterinarians work together to conduct cutting-edge research on rare, threatened, and endangered species and to share scientific discoveries with SeaWorld guests and the general public. It doesn't stop there, as Lil and I checked out plenty of parks within the Busch Entertainment family – and HSWRI is also afforded a unique opportunity to conduct meaningful scientific research supported by the zoological collections maintained at the SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Discovery Cove parks and to be on the forefront of conservation and education efforts across the country. What to Download: New Music Today

Tuesdays are big in entertainmentville: not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores. So I take a spin through each week's music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download.

Still rockin': I was surprised when I heard that Pearl Jam was releasing an album exclusively through Target this past Sunday - huh?! - but Backspacer is a solid, mature showing from the heralded band. The songs are full of introspective lyrics, like an older and wiser Eddie Vedder reflecting back on his life, but most of the tracks are fast-paced with a tinge of punk sound. While a bit of head-banging is fun, I've always preferred Pearl Jam's ballads like "Black" over their heavier stuff, so I'll be downloading "Just Breathe" and "The End."

Still waters run deep: Yesterday, we got word that indie artists Sea Wolf made it onto the New Moon soundtrack; now comes their sophomore full-length effort White Water, White Bloom, a mellow album of romanticism. (Perfect for Edward and Bella, no?) Every track has gorgeous storytelling imagery, as singer-songwriter Alex Brown Church constantly weaves in water themes (as his album title and band name hint). The result is something dreamy and lush to listen to on a lazy, sunny day. My favorite tracks: "Wicked Blood," "Dew in the Grass," and "The Orchard."

Child's play: Those neon outfits, those tight pants, that Freddie Mercury falsetto - everyone knows Mika is a bit outrageous, and his latest album is just as super-charged as his debut. Reportedly inspired by his own adolescence, The Boy Who Knew Too Much is full of that rebellious teenage attitude with the standard Mika dance fever. From the island music of "Blue Eyes" to the nursery rhyme-ish ditty "Toy Boy," it feels light and fizzy, like pop music on Red Bull - and it's just as addictive. You'll either love it or hate it, but as for me, I'll be downloading "We Are Golden" and "By the Time," where he collaborates with Imogen Heap.

True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Play at SeaWorld

Straight off their appearance at this year's Comic-Con, True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer headed over to the San Diego Zoo to splish-splash around with the animals. The pair cuddled with the (drama-free) resident 2-month-old Magellanic penguin before diving into the dolphin tank for a wet-nosed photo op - how well do you know the sea-dwelling creatures?

You Asked: Confused About Salt?

You're asking and I'm answering . . .

"I usually use sea salt because I thought it was healthier but now I am reading that it's not - I thought it had less sodium or something. It's way more expensive than regular salt, so should I switch back?"

Salt, no matter what prénom you give it is still just salt and all salt has the same amount of sodium (sodium chloride). The real difference between the two is that sea salt comes from seawater through evaporation and table salt usually comes from rock salt, which is mined from mineral deposits. Here's why sea salt gets its health claim: sea salt doesn't contain iodine or any other additives, while table salt does. So in the end it's really a matter of preference of taste, texture, and if you care about additives or not. So if you're looking to skip the additives then you may opt to pay more for sea salt, but as far as sodium is concerned it's all the same. Oh, and in case you're wondering, Kosher Salt also does not contain additives and contains the same amount of sodium as sea salt and table salt.

This leads me to remind you that the RDI of salt, no matter the type, is 2,300 mg, or one teaspoon, at the most (though some think it should be more like 1,500 mg). I personally like to use sea salt because I think the taste is more prominent, which means I tend to use less of it.

Crave Worthy: Sea Urchin Poufs

I think I have died and gone to heaven in the ocean. Poufs + sea urchins + yarn = three trends I love blended into one. I don't read a stitch of German, but I might have to sign up for Berlitz just to figure out how to get my hands on one of these Taschide Sea Urchin Poufs. Update: My German-speaking husband reveals that the description reads, "The pillows come in three sizes and several colors (presently: bright pink, grey, grey/brown). They are stuffed with wheat/spelt mixture, and the coverlet is hand-embroidered from wool. The coverlet may be washed. The pillows and coverlets are produced (i.e sewn, assembled and stuffed) in Germany."

The cozy creatures are utterly charming and would make sublime spare seating in my home, or even a footrest for my privileged feet. Beyond that, the palette is parfait, kind of like French macaroons - another love. Sigh.

Allergy Relief: Afrin Pure Sea vs. NeilMed

Using a neti pot is a simple, natural way to combat allergies and nasal congestion, but sometimes you need a little extra power in your nasal irrigation. I just tried two sinus rinse products, which can easily be found in a drugstore. Afrin Pure Sea ($12) and NeilMed Sinus Rinse ($11.50).

The Afrin saline solution is made from purified sea water, from St. Malo Bay off the coast of northern France. The water is isotonically treated, making the concentration of salt similar to that of your body; it is also preservative free. The four-ounce bottle comes with a detachable applicator to be cleaned between uses. To use, press down on the applicator once the tip is positioned inside your nostril, while leaning over a sink or in the shower. I tried the medium stream, but it is available in gentle stream as well.

The NeilMed is a little more do it yourself. You mix salt packets, 50 come with the nasal irrigator, which holds eight ounces of water. The salt packets are considered isotonic and are preservative free. You fill the irrigator with warm distilled water, mix in the salt, and then squeeze the bottle placed against a nostril, over a sink, to rinse your nasal passages.

I feel both these products work, but the NeilMed worked a bit better. Since you exert pressure on the bottle, you have more control over the force. The NeilMed is also more economical, because I believe you will get more applications per package. I found the press-with-cap of the Afrin a little awkward when using my left hand for my left nostril. On the plus side for the Afrin, you don't have to heat or distill your own water, which can be a pain. I used tap water with the NeilMed - who keeps distilled water on hand? While waiting for the water to heat up, I wasted a lot of water and live in a drought zone. The Afrin would also work well if you're traveling and are unsure of the availability or water quality in your destination.

The NeilMed is ultimately more eco friendly as well. You can buy extra packets of salt without purchasing another irrigating bottle. Plus, the water comes from your home or nearby instead of being shipped from France.
