Trend Alert: Mauve Lipstick

Those who love mauve-coloured lipsticks are no shrinking violets. Celebrities like Selma Blair adores Serge Lutens Refillable Lipstick in Mauve de Swann and Sharon Stone favours La Prairie Cellular Luxe Lip Colour in Mauve Glow have revealed that their go-to lip colours are muted shades that fall somewhere between lavenders and dusty roses. Mauves look great on most skin tones so don't be afraid to test them out. Below are my three picks for must-have mauve lip products. What's your favourite colour lipstick to wear during the Summer?

I love Revlon Matte Lipstick in Mauve It Over (£7.13) because it has a velvety, shimmer-free finish. The colour is rich, it glides on smooth and it looks smashing when paired with a smoky eye.
Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick in Frostiest Mauve (£5) is the opposite of matte! It's rich, creamy, shiny and contains flecks of glitter to create a soft metallic finish. It's also formulated with Vitamin E and jojoba to keep your lips supple and nourished.

Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Hug It Out (£12) is the pinkiest (rather than purple) shade of the bunch. The coverage is sheer, it's packaged in a slim tube and has an awesome lip-friendly slanted tip to ensure even coverage.
Estee Lauder Pure Colour Gloss Stick in Icy Glaze (£14.68) also has a slim packaging. This colour is also sheer, but has an incredible sheen even though there's only a hint of sparkle. The texture is light, smooth and I've always been a fan of the light, sweet, floral Lauder signature lip product scent - enjoy!

In the Spotlight: Selma Has Her Eye On Wink

It's a wonderful day in Selma Blair's neighborhood as she takes advantage of some LA sun during a stroll with her lil pal. The pup, Wink, gets his name since his missing eye makes him look like he's constantly winking. He was found tied to a tree before the Lange Foundation (a great organization that's dedicated to saving companion animals from abuse and neglect) took him in . . . and Selma adopted him. So nice to see the pup in a happy, forever home, and check out Selma's watchful eye - best to make sure he doesn't eat anything naughty off that green grass. Just goes to show that a pampered, precious pal doesn't need to be a purebred to attract the paparazzi.

Jessica and Ginnifer Make History in Rome

Jessica Alba made the trek from LA to Rome for Bulgari's "Between Eternity And History" bash last night. She was joined by Ginnifer Goodwin, who ditched her recent racy look for something more demure, as well as Selma Blair and Chloe Sevigny. Jason Lewis was the lone male celebrity on the red carpet, as he continues making the rounds on the party scene before likely getting to work on the next Sex and the City movie. They were only one country away from all the star-studded action going down in Cannes, but it seems like Jason and the ladies managed to have a fun night among the Bulgari baubles.

The Met's Costume Institute Gala: Selma Blair

Hello, bangs. Selma chooses an exceptionally high style for her look creating a good three inches of volume from the looks of it. The rest of her hair is stick straight and tucked behind her ears, which makes it hard to glance away from the top.

But . . . on her face, she's got blushed cheeks and rosy lips with some eyeliner and smudged shadow pointing from the outer portions of her eyes for a sweet sort of catlike look. Is her look out of this world in a good way, or not so much?

Selma Blair Heats Up Miami in Her Bikini

Selma Blair loves a good bikini beach day, and she seized an opportunity to show off her body in Miami over the weekend. She and her boyfriend/costar Mikey Day headed down to Florida for the opening of the Viceroy Miami hotel on Thursday, and stayed for a romantic long weekend. The couple held hands and cozied up together on the surf and sand, proving that while their marriage may be rocky on Kath and Kim, their real life love is smooth sailing.

Another Round of Shows For Rachel, Diane, and Selma

Many more lovely ladies were out this afternoon to check out the scene at New York Fashion Week. Rachel Bilson was on hand for the second day in a row, sitting front row at Brian Reyes and stopping to chat with Fab. Diane Kruger, meanwhile, showed her support for Tommy Hilfiger just as she did last season, though this time she brought along Joshua Jackson. She posed for photos with Selma Blair before the show, linking up with the designer himself and his daughter Ally. The fashion fun ends tomorrow before moving on to London, but Fab and Bella will be bringing you all the news as the week wraps up.

Best of 2008: Beauty Chameleon

I admire anyone who tries anything different, and these ladies represent the best of the best when it comes to taking beauty risks. Whether you love their looks or not, you've got to give credit to anyone who shows up with multi-colored spikes and a trendy new lip color at one event, and then hair extensions and subdued makeup at another. The ladies in this lovely bunch are what I like to call the chameleons - that select group of celebs who never fail to excite us with their bold, ever-changing styles. So, what do you think? Trend Alert: Go Graphic or Go Home

My favorite Spring collection was Dries Van Noten. Graphic prints were an integral part of the eclectic collection. These calculated prints command attention and are stimulating to the eye. Celebrities have already dabbled in this cool trend and it's only going to grow. If you want to be ahead of the curve, go graphic or go home. What's more, circular and angular graphic prints stand alone - you can pair down the rest of your look. Fergie, in Tommy Hilfiger, funked up her graphic print dress with layered bracelets and blue suede sandals, while Tilda Swinton was purely polka doted in her silky Lanvin.

TV Tonight: Kath and Kim Take on Breast Cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and tonight, NBC's Kath and Kim is getting into the act. The mother-daughter team at the heart of the comedy has hooked up with Ford's Warriors in Pink campaign to help promote awareness of the disease in tonight's episode.

Anyone who tunes into the show tonight will have a chance to win a Ford Warriors in Pink Mustang (which will also be Kim's car for the duration of the season - huh, who knew she had a license?). There's also a funny little spot at the end of the show spotlighting breast cancer awareness in a way that only Kath and Kim can: by talking about how they need to pick a cause, what with being celebrities and all.

Last week's Kath and Kim premiere got a mixed reaction, but this sounds like as good a reason as any to give the show another try. If you didn't see the first episode, you can watch a quick recap of it if you read more.
