Blake Travels the Northeast Corridor to Celebrate Her Birthday

Blake Lively has been back and forth between Boston, where she's working on The Town, and the Gossip Girl set in NYC, but last night she took a break to celebrate her birthday. Blake attended a bash hosted by InStyle and Tiffany's at New York's Cooper Square Hotel with Maria Sharapova. Blake turned 22 in her sparkly dress with a piece of cake, and a big smile. While her costars from her TV show have been spending most of their time together, Blake's busy balancing her many party and professional obligations up and down the East Coast.

Is there a look Maria Sharapova can't pull off? I think not. The tennis star showed up at a Tiffany event in NYC looking sassy and sophisticated at the same time. The print of her Chloé resort dress is roarworthy, while the loose cut is beyond chic. Further spicing her up are her Tiffany earrings, black ankle Cole Haan booties, and black-cuff bracelet. Another great ensemble, Maria!

Maria always looks great. She seamlessly goes from the hot court to the stylish red carpet. Here, she co-hosted a TAG Heuer party in Canada, in a crinkled electric blue frock with sheer ruched gray sleeves. But it's her Cole Haan teensy chain bag tucked casually under her arm that brightens up her look. The fact that she's wearing it anti-fancy as a clutch, rather than dangling, is a Sharapova styling trick I think I'll try. Have fun with these little ones and throw an unexpected color into the mix.

Maria Sharapova Teams Up With Sony Ericsson

Twenty-one year old tennis star Maria Sharapova not only endorses Canon PowerShot cameras, but she's recently signed on with Sony Ericsson as its "first global brand ambassador." According to Crave, Sharapova will be working with the Japanese-Swedish company's designers on a range of products and accessories. Right now, Sharapova is promoting the Sony Ericsson W350i, which she is posing with here. The W350i is a sleek slide phone that comes with a walkman player, a 1.3-megapixel camera and internet/email functionality. Stay tuned for purchasing info.

Russian tennis ace Maria Sharapova took to the courts at Wimbledon yesterday as she played Gisela Dulko. I'm always excited to see Maria, not because I'm a fan of the sport but more to see what she's wearing! Last year she wore a cool tuxedo style ensemble which caught my eye. This year she wore a white dress and revealed to Grazia why she thinks fashion is an important part of the game. "‘I don't think being an athlete affects my personal style, but being interested in fashion can make me a better tennis player. When I feel good on the court, it improves my game." She has teamed up with Nike to create her own collection which will be unveiled at the grand slams. Whilst she is off court, Maria is a fan of trousers by Rick Owens, who says fashion and sport can't go hand in hand?

Last night I was watching Gossip Girl re-runs online, and naturally was forced to watch short commercials during the show. God forbid I be torn from Chace Crawford for 24 seconds! Luckily, I was kind of entertained by a Maria Sharapova Canon Powershot commercial; not because I'm a fan, but because her dog, Dolce, becomes a bit of a camera whore when passersby fall in love with the pooch. While I was tuned in, I also noticed that the accent pillow on Sharapova's couch looked quite familiar. Where had I seen it? To find out, and to see the commercial video, read more.

When it rains Maria Sharapova, it pours Maria Sharapova. We've been giving a lot of love to the tennis star lately and it's clear to see why. She's stepped up her fashion game off court. This time around, Maria combined comfort with sophistication by wearing metallic flats with pearl earrings. I love the different shades of gray and asymmetrical play, and how the black wide-leg pants provide a sharp contrast. To keep with her sporty self, she's toting Miu Miu's patchwork bowling bag. Celebrity Style: Maria Sharapova

I don't know where Maria Sharapova went last night, but it must have been a helluva swanky party. The tennis star has once again impressed with her spot-on fashion sense. The cobalt cutout Thakoon dress gives her look a major jolt, while the chunky silver Dries van Noten necklace adds more pizazz. What's particularly cool here is that she threw her black oversized blazer over her shoulders borrowed-from-the-boys style. But what's even cooler is that she designed her own shoes, complete with Nike air cushioning, in a collaboration with Cole Haan. Now that's style.

Sharapova's Red Nike Tennis Dress: Cool or NOT?

Maria Sharapova, defending U.S. Open champion, is one sharp dresser. Her red tennis dress for nighttime play (she has a different outfit dedicated for daytime play) seems more evening gown than tennis dress, to me.

OK, so the tennis dress, designed by Nike, is a celebration of New York in functional fashion form. The bright red-flame color represents the Big Apple and the 600 Swarovski crystals are reminiscent of the Manhattan skyline. The back has three crystal buttons down the back, creating a keyhole effect - I don't think that has anything to do directly with NYC, it just looks cool. The functional element is the fabric and construction. The material is breathable wicking jersey constructed with a no-sew technique where seams bonded with heat and silicone instead of thread.

Sharapova described the dress as simple and classy, which suits her taste since she doesn't like things that are "tacky." I am not sure I am convinced on the crystals and the color though. I don't know about you, but I think the over all look is a little more ice skating costume then tennis dress. What do you think?

Maria Sharapova in White Harem Pants: Love It or Hate It?

When a girl rocks harem pants, you have to know that she has an experimental side. I would never guess Maria Sharapova digs avant-garde designs, but she's proven me wrong. The tennis champ recently attended a party in Miami Beach wearing an ensemble that looks straight off the runway. She kept herself monochrome neutral, wearing a silk tank tucked into white harem pants cuffed at the bottom. Nude sandals, a peach clutch, and a beaded necklace round out the airy look. Are you into this or is it just silly?
