Product Review: Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Eye Contour Cream

There's a reason the word super is in the title of this eye cream from Shiseido. This Bio-Performance Super Eye Contour Cream ($52) was recommended to me by a friend about two months ago and now I can't leave home without it. What makes it so special is two-fold. First are the results. It reduces the look of lines, wrinkles and puffiness around my eyes by about 80% and it doesn't sting or burn my sensitive skin. All I know is that when I don't use it, I look like I haven't slept a wink.

Second is the texture. The best way that I can describe the formula is that it's not too light and not too thick. It strikes the perfect balance between a heavy cream and a milky lotion - it's kinda like half and half!

Because it comes in a pump form, it stays fresh and it's easy to travel with. I'm already on my second bottle and so far I like it better than any eye cream I've tried.

Also, unlike most anti-puffy eye creams, it's very moisturizing and it doesn't dry my skin out at all - a common side effect that anti-puffy creams have since they are created to draw out excess fluids. Lastly, I also find that it works great for stubborn dark circles.

Beauty Mark It! An Anti-Aging Eye Cream

I have worn the same eye cream, Skincare Eye Revitalizer by Shiseido, $37, for years...The problem is that now that I am getting older and starting to get crows feet and little wrinkles. I think that I might need something heavier!

Beauty Mark #2 found by zeldaf, is the Lancome HIGH RESOLUTION with COLLASER - Deep Collagen Anti-Wrinkle Serum, $62 for one ounce and $92 for 1.7 ounces. In just 48 hours it is said to help renew the deteriorating collagen in the sensitive area around your eyes.

It was inspired by professional laser therapy, which also helps to promote collagen production and thus reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Beauty Mark #3 found by sigmaration, is the latest anti-wrinkle cream from Bliss called Wrinkle Twinkle, $42. This fast-acting line eraser is a topical "muscle relaxer" for your wrinkles! It fills in the fine wrinkles around your eyes and then relaxes and regenerates the muscles. Over a few month period, it should also help reduce the look of dark under eye circles. Wowsers!

How-To: Leighton Meester's MTV Movie Awards Makeup

Has Leighton Meester ever had a red carpet misstep? Well, sure, probably - but I haven't seen it yet. At last night's MTV Movie Awards, she looked simultaneously cute and sexy, a combination that isn't as difficult to pull off as it may seem. Makeup artist Molly R. Stern shared the steps to getting Leighton's look. For the step-by-step instructions, read more.

Skin: Molly applied Clé de Peau cream foundation ($118!) in O20. For blush, she used Shiseido Accentuating Powder Blush ($29.50) in Glistening Brown.

Eyes: Molly used Vincent Longo liquid eye shadow in Midnight Mauve ($24) as a base over the eyelid. Then, she brushed NARS eye shadow in Night Clubbing ($22) into the crease of the eyelid. Both top and bottom lash lines were lined with CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Brightening Liner in Vibrant Pearl, which launches in July. A few swipes of CoverGirl LashBlast Luxe ($7.99) on the top lashes brought attention to Leighton's eyes.

Get Rid Of Racoon Eyes Forever

I am looking for some advice on how to not get "coon eyes" when wearing eye makeup. I am in my early 30's and cannot afford to go without under eye cream morning and night. However, every day I constantly find myself with make up rims under my eyes midway through the day. I've tried waterproof mascara and eyeliner, and have even tried nicer brands, like MAC. The only thing I can think of is that the eye cream slowly pulls the makeup down. I have also tried using many different brands of eye cream, but I always seem to get the same effect. Dear Sherri
Your problem is easily fixable - you just need 2 things; foundation and powder. Also, contrary to popular belief, begin the make up process with your eyes. Step 1: wash your face; apply your moisturizer and eye cream. Purchase an eye primer. Laura Mercier makes a great one. Let it dry for a few seconds and apply your eye shadow, liner and mascara. When you are finished, clean up the shadow that's fallen below your lower lash line with a Q-tip. If it looks too cakey to you, then add a small dot of eye cream (a little goes a long way) to the corners of your eye, but don't smear it underneath. I happen to love Shiseido's Eye Revitalizer. It's a little bit lighter for daytime use and the narrow tip allows you to easily and gently direct the cream. It's also not as expensive as other eye creams ($36, and it last about 4 months). Step 2: Apply under eye concealer and a small amount of foundation over the concealer. You can apply it only to your eye area if you don't like foundation all over your face. Lastly, dust a light loose powder over the concealer/foundation to set it. Since your eyes are all finished and your face is a clean canvas you can apply your blush and your lipstick and you are finished. Add Bobbie Brown's Face Touch Up Palette to your purse for emergencies throughout the day, but I doubt you'll need it if you follow my steps.

That's the secret ingredient which helps make eyes look brighter, firmer and more revived. This balm gets warmed between your fingertips to activate the ingredients. Smooth and warm....yummy! Also, Jessica Simpson and Madonna are both huge fans.

I live for Shiseido Skin Care Eye Soother $36. I use it day and night and it's super small which makes it really easy to pack. My tubes last just a tad longer than 3 months.

How-To: Mila Kunis's Rockin' VH1 Makeup

Saturday night at the 2008 VH1 Rock Honors, Mila Kunis donned a soft, wavy two-toned updo, dark and sexy seductive smoky eyes and icy cool lips. I love this modern dressy makeup look and Miss Mila has just the right amount of mojo to pull it off.

FACE: The first step in creating flawless, pale skin is making sure that your face is well hydrated. Apply a moisturizer to your face and neck and then apply an eye cream to your orbital bone. Next, smooth creamy foundation such as Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation in Ivory all over, and dab concealer around any red or blue areas. Then, apply a translucent powder to set the base.
CHEEKS: Using an angled, contour blush brush, apply a mocha powder blush such as Clinique Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Mysterious Mocha to the bottom half of your cheekbones and sweep upwards and outwards towards your ear. Then, use what's leftover on the brush on your temples and chin to create symmetry. Don't overdo it, a little blush goes a long way.
EYES: First and foremost, you need to fill in your brows. Apply a pencil or a gel to add structure to your face. The, apply a bone-colored shadow all of the lid. Blend a deep sable-taupe in the crease and a lighter, pale pink above and below the crease. For this look Shiseido's The Makeup Silky Eye Shadow Duo in Warm Tearose is the perfect powder shadow combo. Next, use a creamy black eyeliner pencil along the top lash line and the inner rims of your eyes. Dab the inner v with a touch of sparkling, white highlighter and apply two coats of jet-black mascara. As a finishing touch, sweep the pink shadow underneath your eyeliner on your lower lids to make your eyes really pop!
LIPS: Using a lip brush, apply a creamy lipstick like Victoria's Secret Makeup Very Sexy Perfect Lipstick in Whisper to your lips. This pale neutral with a little bit of shimmer is Karolina Kurkova's favorite.
