Nicole and Jessica Have a Mommy's Night Out

Jessica Alba was casual in plaid yesterday afternoon out in LA with Honor, but she got fancy by the evening for an adults-only dinner. She was seated right next to fellow mom Nicole Richie, and the girls chatted and laughed throughout the meal. Nicole wasn't decked out in her on-trend bubble shorts, but she did show off her post-pregnancy body in a tight miniskirt. She also debuted a shorter haircut, after saying bye to her long locks recently on Twitter.

VMAs Bring Kanye's Drama, New Moon, MJ Love and More!

The MTV VMAs brought its share of drama last night - some amazing performances, a heartfelt Michael Jackson tribute, and a huge moment that had everyone talking - it was a show that will go down in history. Check out all the winners here! The biggest story of the night was Kanye West making a scene when Taylor Swift won Best Female Video, but thankfully it all ended well when Beyonce Knowles sweetly called her up onto the stage to have her moment and he apologized profusely. The night was dedicated to Michael Jackson and kicked off with a touching tribute from Madonna and a performance including his sister Janet. The other big moment came when Kristen Stewart debuted her hot short haircut on stage with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to debut another New Moon trailer - watch it here.

Eminem was also a big winner for the night, walking away with a Moonman and participating in some funny sketches with Tracey Morgan. Lady GaGa had countless costume changes and a performance that left her hanging covered in fake blood. We loved seeing Jay-Z finish off the night with Alicia Keys as well as Pink's trapeze act and Beyonce's big group "Single Ladies." In case you missed any of the red carpet excitement, check out the men and women. Russell Brand's act is familiar after last year and we must admit we were happy to see Adam Brody on stage with Megan Fox to promote Jennifer's Body.

MTV Video Music Awards: Cassie

Back in July, we saw Cassie with etches on the shaved side of this disconnected haircut, but tonight she's keeping that side soft and smooth, letting the longer part stand out with a little curl and some rolled texture. While it might seem like she doesn't have a whole lot of options with this distinctive cut, as evidenced by tonight's look, she most certainly does. Someone give kudos to Cassie's stylist for creating two looks in one. As for the makeup, it's all about the smoky eye and pink glossed lips. Halle's Dark Tides May Bring Her Down Under

Halle Berry stepped out of an appointment in LA yesterday still looking perfectly summery in her dress and short haircut. Halle is still ignoring rumors that she and Gabriel Aubry have baby number two on the way, but she's plowing forward in her career regardless. She's apparently in the final stages of signing on to star in Dark Tides, a thriller from the producers of Twilight. It's set to start shooting in South Africa later this year, which could mean some exciting world travel for Halle and Nahla soon.

Love It or Hate It? Lily Allen's Arty Beauty

Lily Allen showed off her newly short hair cut at the Saatchi party in London last night. Her new choppy bob in ebony black looked sleek and sophisticated. I have to admit I'm liking it much more than her previous long brunette style or pink hair colour.

She wore the style with a deep side parting and upped the glamour ante. Cue high voltage dark smoky eyes lined in thick black kohl. A touch of blush and nearly nude lips made for a flattering and yet still show stopping look.

Katie Holmes is such a hair chameleon! Sure, we've seen a short crop on her before, but it was sleek and classic. Now her shorter hair is more tousled and less formal. No doubt it's easy for her to take care of cute little Suri with this no-fuss hairstyle, and I'll be interested to see how she works with it for her next red-carpet affair. Product Review: HerCut, Made Just For Your Haircut

In an attempt to offer a new twist in the haircare market, HerCut, a line of products tailored to the form and shape of your actual haircut, launches online today. Earlier, most of you said you'd at least give it a try, but as expected, there were some rumblings about whether or not these products could actually work, as they eschew something rather important when it comes to your hairstyle - its texture.

HerCut offers five styling "Catalysts" ($22 each) that pump out a cream on one side and a gel on the other, to complement the foundation of the haircut (think multichambered toothpaste dispensers). Those haircut foundations are the Bob, the Blunt, the Shag, Long Layers, and the Pixie. The product lineup also includes three different types of paraben- and sulfate-free shampoos ($19 each) and conditioners ($19).
