When I went home for the holidays I knew my family would go nuts over Guitar Hero III, but I had no idea the screaming and hollering that would ensue when I popped in Smarty Pants for the Wii. While sometimes it's difficult to trust that economists' assessments are any more accurate than yours or mine, more than a few professionals have indicated there are signs the economy is stabilizing. Cute: proposing to your girlfriend via jack-o'-lantern. Not cute: having an all-costume Halloween wedding with a cake made out of Tootsie Rolls and Smarties.
